Anybody have a preference, guys or ladies? My daughter and i are heading out on Monday night, so you all have a tiny bit of homework over este fin de semana ("weekend" for those of you born in Gringolandia). Please compare/contrast...
I have been to several of the Famous Dave's in the Cities and find the quality is hit or miss. But more good than bad.
I haven't been to Rudolf's in a while but they used to be pretty good. It's on the corner of Franklin and Lyndale Ave Market Barbecue is another place that has always been consistent. As always it depends on type of sauce you like and Spicy vs. Smokey or if you like dry rub style. But to my thinking if the meat doesn't taste good on it's own all the sauce in the world won't help it. Good Luck and report back on where you ended up going and how it wa
You need to go to Big Daddy's Barbeque in St. Paul, corner of University Ave and Dale St. Great Ribs and Chicken, but you really need to try the Rib Tips (especially burnt ends). Typical BBQ sides but the Baked Beans are fantastic.
This place is just take out but the ribs are good. I like the catfish and rib combo. There are better places for side orders this is their shortcoming. My all time favorite place for ribs and the one I compare all others to is John Hardy's in Rochester they know how to feed you great ribs and the best sides.
I'll second QFanatic, and recommend the slab bacon BLT with aioli. Get the cole slaw - if you can still eat anything after you finish the sandwich, it's great. Just off 169 in Champlin, south of the bridge.
