I plan on staying in Minneapolis (Burnsville) on a Friday and Saturday night in a couple of weeks.  Wondering if any of you might help me out with a couple of options for a good place to eat.  I was thinking maybe a good ribeye, barbeque, or some seafood or sushi.   Nothing too fancy as I will be wearing shorts or jeans.  I'm also not too comfortable trying to find places downtown.  I kind of know the mall of america area.  Any help would be appreciated.  Also hope to make some other visits while I'm there as well.   Any help in either area would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The original Axels is on the south side of town.  There are a few new Axel's Bonfire locations.

Go to the original.  You'll be glad you did.

If you are looking for a Sunday brunch try Famous Daves in Calhoun Square.  Sorta on the S side of downtown, but easy to get to.  Just google search Famous Daves Minneapolis.

There's a place on 42 called Porter Creek. Awesome filet Mignon and the wings are huge. Looks kind of fancy from the outside, but  very casual. Otherwise there's Red Lobster and Outback near by

personally not a fan of bubba gumps, but at MOA, Tiger Sushi is exceptional.

right in Burnsville, Cliff RD. (cty rd 32) and Cedar,(hwy 77) area. Doolitle"s Woodfire Grill. And Caspers Sirloin Room. Can't go wrong at either one. Nice outside patios, easy access and parking, reasonable and casual, right across from each other.

It's in the Radisson Blue hotel attached to the south side of the mall, second floor.  Excellent rotisserie chicken and steaks. Their pork chop is o ne of TY he best (and biggest) I've ever had.

Twin Cities Grill (inside of the MOA) is also a good steak place.
Wooley's (east of MOA in the Embassy Suites) is excellent

Tiger was closed last time I was at MOA.  I like Kyoto in Eagan.

Takes all kinds I guess.  Tried sushi once, at Tiger's and hated it.  Love Bubba's but Noodles at the mall and their Wisconsin Cheesesteak sandwich with tomato bisque/soup is now my favorite.

I haven't been there for a while, but I consider the Twin City Grill at the Mall of America one of my all-time favorites. They do steak, chops, chicken, seafood, burgers, and salads as well as any place in the city. And they have terrific sides, from quality french fries to steamed vegetables and fine soups, like a top-notch tomato basil bisque.

And it's the mall, so you can dress up or down. They'll take you in shorts or a suit.

Also, if you're thinking of a good breakfast, think about Jenson's Cafe on Burnsville Parkway. A very good independent place with great pancakes and some house specialties you may really enjoy.

And if you're dying for sushi, try Crave. There's one in the MOA and one in Edina at a mall called the Galleria, which is next door to Southdale. Pretty easily accessible from Burnsville. It's kind of trendy, but I here the sushi is great.

Good luck! Hope you have a good hobbying experience, too, if you take advantage of the great women in town.

Very good is an understatement. This my go to place for business and pleasure. The Mendota location was the first and is the best by far.

when I was there last they had moved from that center location to a first floor location.   Still open and still great food.   Maybe you were there during the move?
