Today I set up an appointment with a gal who advertises in City Pages, but also has one very good review on this board.

We set the appointment for me to call her once I arrived at a well known South Minneapolis intersection.  When I go to that intersection at the agreed upon time, I phoned, and she said to meet her in the parking lot of a drug store a few blocks away.  This made me a bit nervous.  I drove around the store a few times, and I saw her.  She was a knock-out!  Unfortunately, I also noticed a car in the alley with a guy alone.  Paranoid person that I am, I decided to bolt -- believing this might be some king of set up. It was quite a disappointment, though, because the gal was very appealing.

Any advice?  Would you have done the same?  Input will be appreciated.

Was it the real deal or a set up?  Only she will ever know.  But if your gut instinct told you something didn't feel right and you should bolt, you're probably right.  You were obviously thinking with the right head.  Better to be safe and use you gut instinct and your your larger brain than listen to the "little" brain and possibly be set up for disaster.  My opinion, whether it's what you want to hear or not, is you did the right thing and just stay away.

But that's just my opinion I could be wrong.

I applaud your vigilence...  A few of the providers that know of my background will get a chuckle when they read this (like you Tuz) but I too am "hyper-sensitive" to my surroundings for the few minutes that I'm in the "window of risk."

Don't get me wrong, I am by no means paranoid, I just stay very focused on my surroundings and the atmosphere as I approach a meeting, without letting that minute or two of vigilence destract me in any way once the fun has begun.

A quick drive around the hotel parking lot, or at a house/apartment, parking a block away and walking over...  If you make it a point to be observational and aware, during those couple of minutes, you will easily sense if something's out of place.

How 'bout letting the rest of us know who this provider was so we to can be on guard.

I agree with your actions.  If your gut instinct is telling you something is wrong, better to be safe than sorry.  I would have gone one step further and called the provider back and told your gut feeling so she would not think you were standing her up.  Better to think with the brain head than the pleasure head.  That one can get us into trouble!

LE constantly monitors TER, City Pages, TC Uncovered,EROS and others.
TER is monitored by LE throughout the US. Have you every read a post like.."Coming to town who is available in Bloomington or you name the town". That is probably LE trying to get info on providers. If I were a provider I would not want any info about how I operate on this board. In time LE will use it to find you.
Remember this: Even if no crime is committed, LE will falsify the arrest report in order to get their bust.

I was not planning on posting any additional info.  I just thought what happened was wierd.

Are you saying that even my original post was risky?

If your gut tells you to get out of there, go. You did the right thing.  I've been in similar situations and once my "antenna starts to quiver" I beat it.  One reader here talks about the "window of risk" very appropriate assessment as in that time we should all have our radar on full.
