what is a meet and greet?

gathering of hobbyists and providers to do just that, meet each other and greet each other, although sometimes, more happens, if you catch my drift.  But the more is not mandatory, or necessarily to be expected.

So what's going to happen? What is a M&G?
It's simply an organized happy hour.
For the guys, it's a chance to meet dozens of ladies without having to book an appointment. For the girls, it's a place to meet new clients, meet your fellow good will ambassadors and build you own reputation. For all of us, it's a chance for us to meet the people we know from the boards and introduce our friends to each other.

It varies whether there is a cover charge and free food and drink or if everyone fends for themselves. In DC we have gotten less organized. More casual. More Under The Radar.

Some tips.

DO dress casually.
Most of us will be coming straight from work.
It's a big happy hour
Usually it is more of a bar atmosphere, So dress like you're hanging out in your neighborhood bar, not like you're going to the swankiest nightclub behind the velvet rope.

DO set up something before hand, if you want to make sure you get laid at the end of the evening.

DONT monopolize the lady's time while you are there, she wants to meet other people and you should be too. Remember she is going home with you anyway.

DO expect some people to be booked that evening, but not everyone. It's generally a 40/60 split.

DO be discreet about your questions with the ladies.
Feel free to ask if your new friend is available later, but take a quick walk outside to discuss particulars.
You don't want to cause any trouble. The place opens up to the public, so keep that in mind when telling stories.

DONT get shit-faced drunk.
Nobody wants to carry your sloppy ass down the stairs.

DO be polite and funny

DONT be a jackass, thinking you're being funny.
If you don't know the difference, stay home.

DO feel free to set up an after party or ask what everyone is doing afterwards.
