We all know that TER is pretty great for some things. But not so great at others.

So, here’s my question. What do you find works best for discovering great massage parlors?

I know there are places like that sexual services version of the well known tweety service. There’s also the place that claims to map out locations for happy endings. The first one mentioned never really did well at massage parlors in the first place. And has only gotten worse. The second site has devolved to just a list of locations and phone numbers along with mostly fake reviews. Those parlors that actually deliver better services are either not reviewed or get deliberately skewed reviews by guys who want to protect their find.

Here in the Bay Area it’s gotten to the point where, as far as I know, all you can do is use the map site for addresses and phone numbers in your area and then try them out for yourself.

Has anyone found a method with better odds of success?

If you think it’s safer to DM your responses, please do. I am sincerely interested in what you all have found works.

I’ve received no responses of any kind until your post.

I believe there are two potential explanations:

1) People keeping their intel to themselves. Call it paranoia, selfishness, or simply an abundance of caution. Note: I didn’t ask for any specific locations or providers. I only asked for methodology.

2) Scarcity. Nobody has found anything that is working for them with any sort of reliability. Because good MP options are too difficult to find.

Though I believe #2 is a contributor, from some of the comments I’ve seen in various locations, there are people who at least claim to have workable methodologies. So far then, it seems that #1 is the most plausible explanation.

Still, if there are people who are able to repeatedly have great MP experiences, that is good news all by itself. Even if they don’t want to share how they are doing it.

Maybe some answers are still forthcoming, either here or in private messages to you.

There is one big difference between MPs and other types of providers: They are in one fixed and visible location. I've always thought this makes them more vulnerable to LE. City Hall or the local police department get a few complaints from over-interested citizens, or a prosecutor wants to make a little political capital, and there they are, just sitting there. That's why I've never reviewed the places I've gone to. It's not that I want to keep them to myself; on the contrary I want them to do good business and thrive. But I also don't want to call the wrong kind of attention to them.

I'm of the opinion that the problem with the mappy place is it just doesn't have enough reviews (and so they let the fake ones through).  The management does nothing to encourage real reviews.  Maybe there's a way to start real reviews here?

My best intel has been word of mouth, but that is rare.

Agree with everything said here so far. I joined the map place recently, but only for one month. I found there's very little info and reviews that dont say much. The spa owners don't want reviews, as that makes them a target for leo.

I had one spa owner (A place where it seems that everything goes) giving me a massage and started talking about reviews and requested that I stop. She had me pegged; right down to my username and recited some quotes from reviews I had posted for her shop. The service level started increasing after that, when she noticed that I stopped posting about the place. So, what good is the site to begin with? I made note of 4 or 5 places that appear to have good service and cancelled the site as it's quite useless.

Yup. I had to stop writing reviews, too.

Eventually, the girls I stayed in touch with moved up north. And the formerly reliable places have closed.

I’d say it was slim pickin’s. But it’s more like no pickin’s these days.

Thanks for the feedback, all.

Best of luck to you and everyone else.

I've had some great success on the map site primarily thru DM's with trusted mongers in my area. We all rotate thru the same spas and rely on each other for up to date Intel. We are lucky that we live in an area chock full of AMP's so that's are plenty to choose from.

You got luckier than I ever did with DMs on the map site. People were always willing to ask me for info. Never found anyone willing to share info in the other direction.

What's interesting to me is when male mongers DM me for info about girls or spas that I visit, like my experiences are the same as theirs, lol. As customers we are searching for different experiences so I have no idea what they are thinking. It's pretty easy to weed out the parasites but you're right....way too many lurkers there with no reviews begging for intel that they will never get. They pull the same shit on the forums too but are quickly called out.

One month isn’t enough time at that site to develop a trusted network of mongers via DMs. It could be that the usefulness of reviews is regional. The info for the Washington DC area is fairly reliable, but best info comes via DMs.

It’s a chicken egg thing with the maps site. Nobody will engage you in DM unless you have some trust but you can’t gain trust without being able to DM. And god help you if you post a review and find out that everyone wants you to stay quiet about it. And god help you if you don’t post a review because everyone harps on you for not sharing.

In short, you can’t win on that site.

There was a time prior to 2018 when reviews were better and other mongers more willing to share via DM.

I stopped keeping up my subscription for anything more than a month here and there after 2019. It just ceased being worth it to me. But maybe, as the restrictions start easing up the situation will improve. Somehow, I doubt that will happen.

If any of y’all think it’s actually getting better, I hope you’ll let me know.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Doubt it will get better for the bay area. The dichotomy of mps versus korgs/corgs is that a lot of times, sharing names of mp girls leads to many people requesting the same girls, which leads to mps (who do rotations) to change the name of the popular girl. So, by sharing a new hidden gem people inadvertently can screw themselves out of seeing them.

As many people are selfish, they often just keep this info to themselves and maybe some mongers they trust via pms. Couple it with the fact that FS places usually get public onus on them, you get a community which is tight-lipped more than not.

I wasn't in the hobby before the internet age so I wonder if we are heading towards what our OG mongers had to deal with back in the day. I've been in the hobby for decades now and remember a time when there were so many reviews and review sites it was almost overwhelming. Reviews and information were shared freely then came the trend ending every review stating the whole thing was a dream in fear of self incriminating, that turned into less reviews and more chat on the discussion pages and into DM and monger to monger tips. The trolls entered the scene and ruined at least two good sites I used t be on I actually developed friendships there met up with a few fellow mongers went out for drinks and one of my closest friends and surfing buddies to this day was from a review site. The last few times I checked into an old site I was shocked by the political BS, the trolling, the obvious fake reviews and braggards that have probably never stepped foot in an MP.
I will be in Los Angeles next week and thought about joining back on the one site I know but wonder if it's any use or if it's  so corrupted now to be of any help. It's back to the old days grab a LA Weekly look in the back for MP adds and hope for the best.

Good luck finding a useful resource. Maybe you’ll have better luck than I have.

If you do find a good resource, I hope you’ll share. Though TER rules will keep you from being too specific about it unless you use DM.

The map site is fine but people in the bay area have been scared with the rapid closing of parlors in SJ area which made it a ghost town. This was circa 2018.

So if you want to get info there you either have to network or have enough reviews or credible reviews to get info from paranoid members. You can also read between the lines for many establishments.

It also has a lot of shill and fake reviews.

I've recently visited some mps in socal, and info from the maps site was extremely on point. And generally the places I know about in the bay that have good sample size of reviews, the info is accurate enough.

If you do t have many posts or specific reviews, yeah many there will think you're five-oh

It's better than nothing. Payment options have been a deal breaker for me. Really rough crowd at times.

Thry used to have very limited options, now they have a solid variety imo.

Either way, I will say it's difficult to find new under the radar places or hidden gems if you don't have connections or are very versed in reading between lines (still won't be enough if there's no info tho) . It's a shame, really.

Like any preference in the hobby world, the most important resource aspect for me is to compare multiple sources.   In the escort domain, I may start with Eros ads, but I always double-check and triple-check with P411 and here.  In the strip club domain, there are a couple of sites where you can figure out what kind of clubs are around (nude, topless, pasties), expectations of extras and cost.  In the massage parlor domain, I always compare data on the maps site with one other resource.  I have paid subscriptions for the additional data and reviews and because one o two duds I could have avoided pay for the annual subscriptions.

I've never found any of the sites to be much help at all in finding a good parlor. One of the sites has reviews from years ago, the others I found even less helpful. So for me in my area, I've had to go with trial and error. It was the only way. I've now tried about 70% of the parlors locally and been pleasantly surprised at many of them. And vastly disappointed at others that I thought would have been a sure thing.
As much as I'd like to share info I wouldn't know where to really. I made a post some time back asking for info, but I did not get any DM's. I realize of course now that there is the very real possibility of LE reading and integrating here for info, so I suspect the only route is to build up trusted allies here or elsewhere, then share.

Trial and error for me too. One thing about MPs is that if you don't have a great experience, at least the hit to your wallet is not so painful.
