has noticeably diminished... and quite dramatically.

Or am I mistaken?

People are afraid to post because they don't want to be on the top 10 list.

It's unlikely that the chances of maryland members are all afraid of being on top 10 while other boards are full of members who don't really care.

Seems traffic on this board was primarily a curiosity from Wash DC folks, initially.
Majority of them are still on that board.

Hopefully, traffic will pick up as MD related content are further separated from the DC board... that was the intended purpose I think.

All the bad stuff that happened. People are scared to post.

While your reason may be true for yourself, I don't think it speaks for everyone else in general. DC board is flooded as usual.

It's quite obvious LE have been watching the DC board more than MD board.

If people are scared to post, they'd be avoiding DC board.

The Maryland board was one of the more popular requests that TER received for a new regional board. I am going to let posters take the board in the direction you desire within TER rules. I have a bit more flexibility with discussion topics than the General Discussion board. While the GD tends to stick to hobby related topics I can allow more local topics indirectly related to the hobby i.e. any new restaurants in town to take a provider too?

I have been very fair and considerate with regards to posting and have only denied blatant rules violations and even in those cases I have given the poster a chance to correct their mistakes before posting again.

If anyone has any suggestions about how to generate more activity on the board, please share with me either on the board or through a private message.

I don't think it is time to panic yet. Remember we are still in the summer season where traffic is usually slower on most boards from my experience. Kids are out of school and both gents and ladies are spending time with families, on vacations and the like.

There were nine new regional boards that were launched with the Maryland board. Of all these boards, the Maryland board is the most popular with six pages worth of threads already. A couple of others have five pages with the average around three pages.

Unless the dumb policy of forcing providers to choose between the Maryland and the DC boards when posting ads for BWI is changed, this board is doomed to fail.

. . . the Maryland market is smaller than the DC market, hence less traffic.
