Hello Baltimore gentlemen, I am thinking of visiting there around February 6th for a few days and was wondering if it is good there and where would be the ideal place to stay.  I am in Philly now and the place I chose is not ideal and has not generated the business that I had hoped for due to the location.

I would appreciate any help you guys could provide.  Thank you so much, Gina xoxo

downtown baltimore, and finding parking is difficult. Inner Harbor is basically like Dupont Circle in DC. BWI however, its an easy exit that many locals can get to from different parts of Baltimore, it is less congested, and have plenty of parking spaces.

BWI is much more popular for providers and agencies than Inner Harbor.

Marriott seems to pay extra attention to unusual goings on in their properties.  And, the maids like to be tipped for extra services.

Let me understand this. You're willing to spend over $200/hr. for a date but have a problem with paying $8-$10 for parking? BWI has some advantages as far as convienence to county residents but I think that alot of business is being passed up by not touring in Inner Harbor/Inner Harbor East. There is business that could be had from professionals that work in the city and the increasing number of youg professionals that live in the city.

I would rather frequent the suburbs than frequent the cities any day of the week. Downtown cities are always congested with traffic and people. Going from one place that is less than a mile downtown usually takes 20 minutes to get to. Parking there is not cheap, it has always been at least $20 for good parking, unless you park and are willing to walk long distances.

It's just an inconvenience for some people. If there was an option, I go for BWI, much easier for the locals. She asked for suggestions as to what is the best alternative choices for staying there, and I believe BWI is better for that reasons. My input is prevalent because of the providers ads. There is more frequency of providers staying at BWI than Inner Harbor. If I had to rate my visits between the two areas of providers I have seen within past couple months, its 9-1 (9 providers I've seen in BWI and 1 provider I've seen at inner harbor).

So, I believe that she will maximize her investment if she stays at BWI because of the reasons I mentioned. Let her do the research, and she will find more providers posting in BWI than Inner Harbor for the reasons I mentioned. Again, it's just my opinion, and there is nothing wrong with Inner Harbor. It's a great place, but its a hassle.

Thank you so much for your reply, I really appreciate the input.  I have chosen BWI, due to parking my own vehicle etc.  I chose the center city in Philly and it has been a disappointment to say the least, which is why I asked you guys in advance.  Almost every other call I received in Philly was a problem because I was in Center city, I will not make that mistake again.  Thank you so much, Gina xoxo

I have to agree with Mac on this. BWI is super easy. A lot of different hotel choices. Lots of parking. I've also visited people in both areas and if you want to pay $8 to $10 dollars in the Harbor area you can but you are going to be doing some hiking. All hotels have hourly parking but it isn't cheap. The hobbiests should expect at least $20 per hour and that is just for self parking. Bump that up to $40 or $50 for Valet parking. For the extra cost 99% of the time I would chose BWI over the Inner Harbor.

I work downtown, and I strongly prefer not having to move my car to go visit someone.  I can jump on the Circulator, and be down by the Harbor in ten minutes or less.  If for some reason I can't do that, then I just grab a taxi.  I don't have to deal with parking fees or the headaches of finding a spot.  It's also just faster, and the extra hassle in driving makes a difference to me when I'm slipping out of work for a little break.

If I go out to BWI, then I have to re-park, and deal with all the hassles of driving.  It's easy enough when I get out there, of course, if traffic on 295 hasn't been too bad.  Still, it's at least an extra 20 minutes out of the day, and usually longer.  I only go out to BWI if I take off  half-day from work.

I'm not saying that I'm the average hobbyist... but there are guys like me out there.
