I would like to get both sides thoughts on this question.
If a provider was to reach out to other hobbyist and try to set up a play date?

I don't mind at all if a provider pms me in response to a board post. In fact, I kind of like it. And if the discussion turns to hey...we should get together sometime that's also cool with me because that feels natural and organic.

Also don't mind if a provider I've seen in the past emails me saying she'll be in town and would love to get together if I'm free.

Would probably feel less comfortable with a provider I've never met pming or emailing me out of the blue.

then, of course, no problem. Most of my "dates" have been with ladies I have first communicated with via PM here on TER, or have otherwise met before we have a "date".

I personally have no problem receiving emails from ladies I have seen in the past, a few I chat with via email regularly. I'd hazard a guess that some guys might not appreciate this. I think any texting or phone contact would be likely to cause issues for some.

I guess no matter how you approached it, you'd have to respect the wishes of anyone who asked that you not contact them.

....when a gentleman contacts me, and does not want to be screened, I always tell him that if I initiated contact, I would expect to play by his rules, but since he contacted me, he plays by mine.

This does not apply to an ISO post, when a gentleman is seeking something specific, and one replies to a pm, as the gentlemen can easily reject me if he does not like my rules.

Hugs and Kisses,
Kelly

This is a good post. Also it pays to know your potential customers by reading reviews. If he put it in a review he will demand it from you.

Hi honey!! lol I totally agree with you.

I only email previously seen gents when I am visiting their area. Also, I only email them if I have seen them within the last 3-6 months or they have previously requested that I let them know when I come back.

I have also emailed the ones that I missed on a previous tour to give them a heads up.

I think its kind of nice if a provider is passing by my way that she lets me know.  No problems on my end.

It would be okay, as long as discretion is taken into account.  I guess it would also depends on the way contact was going to be made.

If you have met up or communicated before, and it's something like a PM, that's fine.  "Drunk calling" would not be, and unsolicited texts can be dicey.  PMs exchanged because of board posts are also fine, and can often lead to good connections.

It can be awkward to tie it into the question of screening -- as Kelly pointed out, if you go asking and he doesn't want to comply with your screening rules, you're in a tough spot.

expect that it would be someone that you would be confident contacting, just in case he wasn't interested in your screening process( as said before)... Good Luck

It happened to me a few months ago. A lady in California reached out to me and said she liked my reviews and would like to meet when I travel to the west coast. I thought it was extremely flattering. It also helps because she is smoking hot. But I don't have an objection to it.

Do you mean if you have seen the provider before? And she reaches out to you to say she's coming? That is different. No harm in that since a relationship has already started.;-) But if it's a provider going on say, P411 and just emailing guys , I am not a fan of that.

Several years ago in my days of very active hobbying, I had a couple of ladies contact me via PM, and say that they had read my board post and that they would like to meet me, and then said that they thought that we would have a great time together, and then left it up to me. I thought it was pretty cool that they had enjoyed my post, and pretty hot that they had taken the initiative to reach out and let me know.

That being said, I think it would always be ok to contact a hobbiest via PM. It would also be ok to contact them via email, provided you know the email is a hobby email or safe email. Contacting them via phone or texting should never be done first.

As many of us have busy lives and limited free time for "adventures", sometimes we miss providers visiting our area who we would love to make time to see, if we knew they were heading here or here now with availability. I receive notices from providers who I have seen before when they are returning to my area. Receiving similar notices from providers I haven't seen before, who perhaps know other providers who I have seen, or see a review or reference on TER that reveals that we might have compatibility, would be welcome...
