Question for Baltimore:

Hi Baltimore,

My name is Kate Hawn and I am visiting Baltimore for the first time in a few years. Being from the Midwest, I love my meat & potatoes...lol...so I am looking for a good steakhouse. Don't get me wrong, I love seafood as well, as you are known for your blue crabs & seafood. But, can anyone recommend a good restaurant that has both good seafood and a great steak? I do have a car, so driving is not a problem. I am staying in BWI area. Also, I am here on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so if there is a place with perhaps entertainment on those "off"days, that would be an added bonus.

I am open to suggestions from the wonderful people of Baltimore and those that visit as well.

Thanks,
Kate

If price is not a consideration, Ruth Chris has 2 locations in Downtown Baltimore. Excellent ribeye and the atmosphere is awesome.

Let me know if you need a date - i can always use a good steak!

The above suggestions are real good. I would also suggest Prime Rib and Capitol Grill. Both have excellent steak and seafood dishes.

G&M crab cakes may be the best in the world and I was thinking of suggesting it, but the lady said she preferred steaks.  It seems like a real waste to go to G&M's for a steak.

...It is literally a quarter of a mile or less from
G&M and they used to have excellent prime rib along with good local seafood fare and continental favorites. It's been a few years, might want to check reviews, but the food and service were excellent the last time i was there.

I can't more highly recommend a restaurant than G&M for seafood or steaks. They are IMHO the best value for the money and a fun place. Snyders right down the street is and has been over rated for years living off past reputations . Stay away from the harbor way overpriced. My family owned several a family style resturants in the Baltimore area in the 60's and 70's so I have a professional background in my standards.

For casual enjoyment don't overlook the inner harbor in Baltimore.  Science center, Baltimore Aquarium  and some great grazing nearby.

There's a trolly from the airport into the inner harbor area.  Parking in there but sometimes it's kind of tough and more than a bit pricy.

Enjoy...
