let's say I have a payment each month of 200 dollars. But I want to pay 1k or 2k a month with a money order.

Will that be tracked back to me or will I be safe with the Irs? They won't ask who's paying it? I wanna get rid of my student loan fast and by paying with a money order I think it's the fastest way without having to report money deposited in my bank account etc. anyone have advice? If this makes sense lol

Thanks :)

I have a suggestion:  Instead of worrying about ways to prevent the IRS from learning about your income, why not report it and pay the taxes on it?

As a taxpayer, I, and I'm sure others, would be most grateful

Federally insured bank?  A Federal student loan program?   I think this is too dangerous to pay by M.O.  You'd be better off to pay incidental expenses, rent, utilities that have no tracking with cash or M.O.  Cash payments have become more difficult in the post 9-11 world.

Do you want to look like a drug dealer?   Lots of entertainers pay taxes...

I'm trying to pay it ASAP... I pay taxes but not willing to pay that much taxes. Plus whoever gave me that money paid taxes on it already.  I'm asking a question of its possible. I want an answer to it thank you.

This is why I'm asking if it's possible to pay in money orders. Anyone can sign a money order not exactly myself. So I'm asking, am I able to pay large amounts in money order without it being tracked back to me? Anyone know?

Back in the 1980s, I had a customer who routinely paid his bills with M.O.s  I was not surprised as his business had a lot of cash payments.  The M.O.s came from all over & never the same place twice in a row.

I researched 'acceptable id buying money orders'

There may be corperate or state requirements, not listed.

You are correct that anyone can pay your loan for you, but if your loan is Federally backed, and over the course of a year there is 10-20K worth of "gifted payments", you are likely to be investigated for all of your "gift income".
