Just an update here.

I did get a lawyer: $2500

Ended up pleading to a Class 3 vs Class 1. About a $1,000 fine and 24 hours jail time. Exactly what LE said it would be. Lawyer convinced prosecutor that time I spent in processing was enough to satisfy 24 hours. Also got 12 months unsupervised probation. If busted for anything, I can be chargedbagian and could serve 30 days.

I am out of the hobby for at least the year. Too risky at this point.

Just thought this might be helpful infor. YMMV.

I was byes this week in Glendale, Arizona. I was told it's usually a $1000 fine and 24 hours in jail or time served. Research  shows it's min 15 day jail sentence. Any inputs on experiences others have had in Az or Glendale?

Forgot to mention I have no priors, 1st offense.

How did you get busted?  Incall?  Outcall?  Did your provider have reviews?

Incall. No reviews, I went rogue (dumbest move ever). I just got lax

...Joe Arpaio, "America's Toughest Sheriff."  You want to have as little as possible to do with the Maricopa County jail system.  Here are some examples of his get tough policies:

He banned smoking, coffee, movies, pornographic magazines, and unrestricted TV in all jails. He has the cheapest meals in the U.S. too. The average meal costs between 15 and 40 cents, and inmates are fed only twice daily, to cut the labor costs of meal delivery. He even stopped serving them salt and pepper to save tax payers $20,000 a year.

Another program Arpaio is very well known for is the pink underwear he makes all inmates wear. Years ago, when the Sheriff learned that inmates were stealing jailhouse white boxers, Arpaio had all inmate underwear dyed pink for better inventory control. The same is true for the Sheriff’s handcuffs. When they started disappearing, he ordered pink handcuffs as a replacement.

Arpaio has started another controversial program on the website WWW.MCSO.org. Mugshots of all those arrested (about 300 per day) are posted on the Sheriff’s website as they are booked and processed into jail. Just under a million hits daily come into the website, making it one of the most visible law enforcement sites on the internet.

As a first time offender, you probably won't be subjected to this treatment, but Arpaio is an asshole so you never know.

First offender programs are set up like a teacher smacking your knuckles with a ruler instead of sending you to the principal's office for a paddling (old schools).  There's likely very little a defense attorney can do to fight on your behalf now, except for negotiating a better deal with the prosecutor.

Get a paid attorney instead of a public defender and go through the options and expectations with them.  Push for "time served" if the state is adamant.

The state has plenty of stronger and more public cases to try than yours (unless you're a politician) so the faster they dispense with your victim-less crime the quicker they can move to something more socially valuable & promotable.  You're just clogging up the works.

Good luck

Thanks. That is my hope. Council has been detained. I will post the outcome after all is clear.
