Advice on Weekly Apartment Rentals????

Hi, on my next trip to Las Vegas I'm thinking of renting an apartment for a week rather than staying in a hotel.  A search on Google hasn't been very fruitful so I'd appreciate any advice/weblinks etc.  I'm looking for a one bedroom apartment with access to a pool and as close as possible to the Strip.

Any ideas?

The weekly hotels/apartments are basically pretty bad.  VERY low class.  I would suggest checking into corporate housing.  They have some real nice places furnished with all of the amenities.  Personally, I would suggest Oakwood Village Green at the Las Vegas country club, or the Meridian.  Both have excellent locations, but security is soooo tight at Oakwood, it might be a problem depending on how you arrange your service (meet somewhere first).  Meridian on Flamingo might be the best place, but there are others....do a search for corporate housing on one of the las vegas sites

Try the Extended Stayamerica on S Valley View (4370) it is close to the Palms and Reo.  It is a better class of short term.  You will love it.  702-221-7600.

.."renting an apartment for a week, a one bedroom apartment with access to a pool and as close as possible to the Strip".

When I was there last month I noticed a lot of 'for rent' signs around apt. complexes away from the Strip and also lots of ads in the Sun. paper, which I always grab on my way out of town for future reference.  My advice would be to call any well known provider that lives in Vegas and posts here on this forum, and see if she would be nice enough to provide you with some good prospects..  if not, here are some links to get you started!

.. here's the L.V. ReviewJournal classifieds:

and the link below is a Las Vegas apt. finder..

How about one of the Marriott Residence Inns? There are a couple in Vegas, not to far from the strip.

It's more discreet and much easier for clients if you stay in a hotel.

Candlewood Hotel is an extended stay corporate type set up on Paradise and Flamingo. Very limited staff. Very clean and discreet.

why is that the case?
I think it depends on the property.
Hotels in Vegas can be a major pain, due to security, etc.

I agree with the first 2 responses--the "corporate" route or ex-stay near the Rio/Palms.  I've stayed at ex-stay near the Rio/Palms and, well, how do I say this?  If I were in her shoes, that would be one of the best possible bets.  It's clean, roomy, and great location--probably the best location of all possible "weekly" places.  And it's only about 200 smackers for the entire week--with unlimited local calls for free.  And a kitchen.  With pots, pans, plates, utensils, etc.--it's loaded--just like Carrie

I was just thinking the other night about the Residence Inn on Paradise.  Probably a real good bet with relatively limited hassels at the elevators.  Another place to try might be POLO TOWERS.  I am not sure if they are doing weekly rentals, but the rooms are very nice, and there is a popular nightclub there open to the public.  They did have an issue of Legionairres disease there a few years ago, but it has been resolved.  You might wish to check if they will do a weekly.  They have everything you would need as well.

Limited hassels at the elevators at a Residence Inn? We are talking about Marriott Residence Inn, right? I think the only hassle will be the need for a guest room key to get in the "back door".
