Hi ya'll, long time lurker, first time poster.

I was departing for Vegas in the next few days, but my priorities have now shifted to New Orleans and I had to canel my visit.  I was really looking foward to seeing some of the ladies here on TER, but it will have to wait until next spring/summer.

I live near the Big Easy and I've made 14 "water runs" into the city in the last 6 days.  I take anywhere from 75-100 cases of bottled water to whereve its most needed.  There are many "local citizens" like myself doing the same.

I'm glad to say the situation is getting slowly better.  I have to admit that driving and walking around armed with a semi-automatic pistol in a major American city took a bit getting used to, but the rewards are worth every trip.

I want to encourage everyone on TER to donate to redcross.org  That's the best way to help your fellow Americans at this time.  Each trip I take into New Orleans only costs me about $300 for the water and fuel round trip, a mere drop in the bucket compared to the final cost this tragedy will incure.  Please, redcross.org  Many thanks.

very good job, hun*S* Im going to be hosting a 19 year old college student so she can still go tocollege, here in vegas, and got her all the info she needed to take advantage of the offer to treat all refugees of the hurricane as 'visiting' and extend them the best rates, while working with their own college for the financial information...people able to should help with that! Ive seen sooo many posts in the New Orleans section of CL, from all around the usa offering SO much help...it was wonderful to see.

I spent 6 years there and this week has been a very tough one for me. I admire your actions and wish I could be there to help as well. I will make a donation to the red cross right now. I have been trying to decide the best way to get the money where it will do the most good. You have made my decision for me and confirmed my thoughts. Keep on doing what youre doing Sir. The country and New Orleans needs you right now.
