Hope you will bear with a Vegas neophyte! I am arriving at easter wekend to celebrate my descent into middle aged oblivion! and would like to enjoy a last whirl as it were! anyway a couple of things ..? any suggestions of where to play golf? I am a high handicapper but enjoy playing good courses. also am staying at the hilton , is there any action there? i don't really want to book anything in advance (I know its better ) beacuse not all of the guys travelling with me are "hobbyists" so we are not sure how this will go down. anyway am also wondering if there are any clubs that might offer more than the standard "dances etc" so they might happily satisfy both the alibi and the appetites if you know what i mean! anyway, as I said being from the East coast, and Europe originally this is all new so any and all advice greatly appreciated. i don't have a  full membership right now so either respond here or irishartist70 at hotmail thanks all !!

For golf, I recommend either Royal Links or Desert Pines, I've played them often.  Both courses are owned by Walters Golf, the link below goes to their site. If you liked playing golf in Europe, you'll like Royal Links.  It's laid out like a British course.  Desert Pines is more "American," and is cheaper to play.

Of the other 2 courses mentioned in the link, they're good courses, but you should know something.  Bali Hai is in a great location, right on the strip, just south of the Mandalay Bay Hotel.  But, it is extremely expensive to play.  And, Stallion Mountain has a lot of construction going on right now, so I'd avoid it on this trip.

Another course I've played a few times and can recommend (it's not a Walters Course) is Black Mountain in Henderson.  I had the best round of my life there back in November.  The problem there is that it's way, way out away from the strip, in the old section of Henderson.  (Not a problem if you're a local like myself, but a problem if you're getting there by taxi.)  But it does have a spectacular view of the strip from the 3rd tee though.

Golf:

Remember that the Vegas area is surrounded by desert.  And it takes a hell of a lot of water to keep those greens manicured.  And it's not uncommon for the daily high temp to reach 40-45 degrees C (that's over 100 degree F for everyone in the states) during the summer.  I seem to recall a couple TPC courses towards Summerlin (WNW of the strip), not sure if they're open to the public.

Strip clubs:

The lap dances can be good but anything beyond this is actually more risky to the dancer's income and most of them don't have to go there to make hundreds of dollars in tips every night.  Even if you offerred $1000, I don't think they'd risk doing anything inside the club.  Some words of wisdom, don't pay in advance.

Indies:

Take your pick.  Do a search for provider reviews in Las Vegas.  A $20 one month membership gives you a hell of a lot more information than what you can see for free, and that's probably one of the best $20 you'd ever spend.

I like to hang out at the las vegas hilton.  The star trek casino has some pretty loose vid poker machines.  There has always been bar action there, (both major bars) but if you look at posts about bar gals you would likely wish to avoid it.

As far as clubs go....check out www.stripclublist.com, www.tuscl.com or www.vegas-after-dark.com for more info about that.

With regards to golf.   I like the Legacy, Angel Park, and Paiute.  Paiute is a bit far though.  I would avoid Desert Pines if you are a high handicapper.  Beautiful course but VERY tough and narrow so it would be frustrating
