Providers Beware!sad_smile

Hi, my name is Tara.  I’m fairly new to Vegas and the business – I moved here and started in the business April 4, 2003.  I was planning on posting my first review later this week with my introduction and a notice that I had a website and new photos.

Unfortunately, I am posting due to a more urgent matter.

I want to alert new providers to beware of who you hire and how you pay them.  I used a novice web designer and hobbyist who arranges service trades.  This alone should have sent me a red flag, but he was eager and I was new – so we arranged.  What wasn’t arranged was that he would change my password (without my knowledge or permission) thus locking me out of my own website on my own domain, hosted by a hosting ISP that I paid for.  Once I discovered this lock-out, I immediately changed the password.  Since I did not know my password I had to provide the hosting ISP with the last 4-digits of the credit card used to pay for the hosting service.  Guess what, my contractor-web designer called my hosting ISP less than 12 hours later and had my newly changed password changed to one of his preference once again.  He had previously accessed my account management page and recorded the last 4-digits of the credit card I used to purchase the hosting services.  WOW – this type of pre-meditation is down right scary to me.  Well, I immediately called my hosting service again, but this time I also changed the credit card information.  I then terminated my web designer and since then (mid-June), I’ve heard nothing from him until he recently posted he posted a fictious review slandering me.  This one review could potentially ruin my livelihood.  New providers please be careful of who you let into your world!

I have seen Tara about 10 days ago. She goes above and beyond the call of service. I dont think there is anyone better in las Vegas for the services she offers to locals besides maybe her best friend Jenni, who i have not connected with yet. If Tara ever got a bad review, dont believe it because Tara of Vegas is the best out there. Sorry to here you having to go through this Tara, as long as you keep your head in the game, youll be fine..  Robert

case you don't know.

Sorry to bring up the side issue in your message.  What happened to you with that hobbyist is unfortunate.  Other ladies do need to make aware of the danger of the inherit danger of traded services especially if they are somehow involved with personal info.

However, I believe the concern I expressed below is also very important to you.

When I read the first paragraph of your message, I am not sure exactly what you mean by "I was planning on posting my first review later".  If you meant posting a 'description' of your services in a message or within your website, this is totally fine.  However, if you meant posting a TER review of yourself, that is a definitely NO-NO.

TER is very strict with their review rules.  If a lady self-post a review, she will be banned from TER, period.  It is almost impossible to get re-instated once that is discovered.  Staff of TER and other members have a keen eyes for fictitious reviews.  Many worthwhile ladies in LA and other cities have been delisted when they gave in to the temptation of self posting reviews.

It is much better and safer to let the natural review process take place.  You can increase your profile in TER by participating in discussions or chat activities.

JMHO, the way to counter bad reviews for a lady is to introduce herself to the local board and ask members to give her a chance to prove herself.  If the lady is a real deal, more good reviews from trustworthy members will be posted and that will counter the few negative ones.

Good luck.

I appreciate you alerting me to TER policy regarding self-postings in case I did not know and clarifying the issue for other readers.

This is an oooops - wrong word used on my part.  What I meant to do this week was stop lurking on the Las Vegas regional board and post a thread or a message or whatever it is called introducing myself to the community and mentioning my website and the new photos on it.

In retrospect, I know that 'review' is the worst word I could have possibly used.  However, I was upset by the bogus review and had communicated the facts of the situation to TER staff in a lengthy email... the words fictious and review were upmost in my mind when I posted this message on the discussion board.

I am aware of TER's policy regarding self-postings and regardless of my poor word selection in my first paragraph I would NOT self-post.  I am quite happy with my reviews building over time legitimatly.... and think that they accurately reflect the quality service that I provide.  Why muck it up?

Im really sorry to hear about what happened to you.
Check References and get Credentials..
& buisness liscences too.
Better Luck to you..& Experience Is The best teacher..

Sorry you had to deal with that... alot of people wont agree with me but...work is work... I think you should never ever trade services..you have to have a line somewhere...and as you see you have little recourse with trading...if you had paid by check  you could have stopped payment...my site is bar minimal and tons of people have approached me to do it over for me...but I wont do it... someday I will learn to do it myself:)I wont trade servicesjust for the reasons or problems you stated happened to you....hopefully you can let us know who he is privately so other girls wont be tempted to do the same

For some reason I cannot bring up your website. What is your email? The reason I ask is:

A similar thing happened to someone I know in Las Vegas, AND I BET IT'S THE SAME GUY! He RUINED her business doing this. (IMHO this jerk has to be stopped!)

Lets compare notes!
