i stood at harrah's and i met a beautiful provider by the elevators.  security allowed us up but i did sense their displeasure.  when we got in the elevator this girl told me that harrah's didnt like providers.  this was two years ago, so it's been going on for sometime.  i have not stayed there since.

Rio, Caesars, Paris, Flamingo are all owned by Harrah's.

This was my first experience with a hotel asking me for ID. Regardless of my accompanying friends room key, security still refused to let me pass without proof that I too was a verified hotel guest. How ridiculous would this policy be if it were real? This would imply that no guest has the choice to have business associates from other hotels meet them in their rooms, or simply friends that were staying at other hotels come to the room. To actually reiterate that it was hotel policy, that one had to be registered to visit a room, was not even close to being believable. The rent-a-guard waiting at the podium was totally throwing his weight around. The additional facts of my conservative attire, of Vmt greeting me with a kiss on the cheek and making me laugh at our first hello, definitely made it look like we had known each other for a long time. We certainly did not seem like a twosome who had just met. It felt like harassment from Harrah's. They must have been bored that evening. I frequently walk past Rio security and they barely even lift their heads. It's a Harrah's owned property, but there is nothing similar in the way that it's run. Thank goodness that Vmtgbroker was kind and understanding about my not wanting to hand over my ID. It wouldn't have gotten us through to the room and would only have served them with my own personal info to use against me at a later time. Vmtg graciously walked me to the valet and made sure that I was safely on the other side of the hotel security. What a gentleman! Thank you Harrah's. I think all of that pent up frustration over the previous night's events, made both Vmtg and I want to make up for all of those lost hours..naughty grin

vm, sorry Harrahs were such pricks.  Glad you could change hotels.  They are off my list.  Also glad you could see JR.  She is at the top of my Vegas list.  I'll turn up the ac, to read the review.

I have stayed at MGM, Bally's, Flamingo, and Paris within the last 3 months and have not encountered anyone when I brought a guest up to my room.  Harrahs is tough and of all places Excalibur was tough several years back.

and stayed at Ceasars. I didnt get to indulge b/c I was with my wife but I did see many providers prowling around Ceasars. There are no security at the elevators and Ceasars is owned by Harrahs.  I love Vega$$$....cant wait to go without the wife!

You should've stuck with me and my sister VMT, I know a back way up to the rooms at Harrahs.  Maybe next time.
