Hi Sailors and Sirens,

I am coming to Vegas on June 18th-21st. I've reached out to Heather of Vegas, she's from Tampa and have gotten some great tips from her. Thank you, Heather! I've also reached to a local friend here who has given me alot of great places to eat and some hiking adventures.

If anyone can tell me great places to go dancing, really great food since I am a foodie (does not have to be expensive) and your choice of hotels. I'm hoping I am staying on the strip, this is a business/pleasure trip. So, it's wherever they put me.

I feel like a kid in a candy shop coming to Las Vegas. Now, I see why everyone gets so excited!

Hope to meet some new friends while I'm here too.

Any helpful advice and suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Splashing Good Times,
Mermaid Jade

I love McMullan's Irish Pub.  It's on Trop just past the Orleans.   The Lotus of Siam is great Thai food. And if you never had an In and Out Burger try one!

I am assuming you will not a car, so getting a hotel close to monorail would be a good option. Cabs are plenty in Vegas; but the $$$$ can add up.
Also, walking it a great option, but June the temps will be hot (just like you...smile),
These are ONLY the places I have tried

top 5 Hotels - no budget
1. Encore
2. Cosmopolitan (best rooms on strip)
3. Wynn
4. Bellagio
5. Vdara
*****not tried cromwell, yet

top 5 hotel - cheaper
1. Ballys - Classic, rooms remodeled, next to monorail
2. Mandalay Bay - best pool experience
3. Treasure Island
4. SLS - north strip; but brand new and rooms are reasonable (also home to one of the best steak places)
5. Palms - not on strip

top 5 Restaurants - no budget
1. SW Steakhouse - wynn
2. Mizumi - wynn (one of the best views), asian food
3. Bazaar Meat - Jose Andres steak place at SLS
4. Julian serrano - Aria, small plates Awesome white wine sangria
5. Jaleo - Cosmpolitan

top 5 restaurants - budget
1. Carson Kitchen  - Downtown Vegas
2. Hash House a go go - LINQ, Huge amounts of food, and fun place
3. Milos - Cosmo for 3 course lunch special (this event is getting famous and popular)
4. ri ra irish pub at luxor (for my fish, chips and mushy peas !!!!)
5. Lawry's prime rib - groupon offer...2 dinners for $79.00, includes bottle of wine, dessert....and the food is amazing.

Things to do,
Bellagio fountains at midnight (awesome in the summer nights)
Bellagio gardens
Walk the strip at night - people watching
Relax, relax, Relax

Thank you all!

I'm still waiting on my hotel to know where I will be, up to my business where I will be. Plane tickets are bought! YAY!

I'm hoping I have a car. I was told by SoftlySarah to go hiking, so I think I need a car to travel there.
Do they have UBER in Vegas?

Where to go dancing on Friday or Saturday night?

Thank you all very much for your kindness and taking the time to respond to my thread.

Have a great day,
Mermaid Jad

If you like sushi........I mean real Japanese sushi..........NOT some American concoction.........like peanut butter and jelly roll (only exaggerating).  Then Tokyo Boys on Stephanie and Warm Springs Road is the absolute best.  It is a little more expensive (but you get what you pay for, as many of our local providers will confirm) but you will not be able to beat the quality, freshness, and craftsmanship of this sushi.
