I know this gets asked all the time. Coming to town next month for a few nights. Do I stay downtown as I haven't. And is it easier for company. Or do I stay at an average strip hotel that might not be the latest and greatest. And do providers mind it if they aren't going to the top level hotels. I've stayed at some very nice ones except that they tend to bend you over and they don't even kiss you first! 😃
Suggestions?? Thanks

Downtown Grand is nice and Golden Nugget has rooms for all kinds of budgets from low to high.
Nugget is more central.. opens onto Fremont st, has more facilities.
Grand is a couple of minutes walk, quieter, very nice..I like the retro style.

No problem for providers getting access to downtown hotels.

I know there are many ladies here on TER, including myself, who are happy to visit downtown.

Container Park, artsy fartsy venues, Burlesque Hall of Fame (Love you, Dixie Evans, miss you), and of course lotsa new restaurants and such, looks like time to take a chance.  Rush Tower at GN seems to be the consensus so far.

I took it to mean: Easy for providers to get access to... no need to meet downstairs/ no room key needed for elevator etc et

I checked the Downtown Grand website. But they don't have a sports book to bet on the horses. At least I couldn't find it.

You need to start your own topic about it

I have responded to this question many times and it is always the same...downtown rules!  Why? Cheaper hotel rates, cheaper food and beverage costs, cheaper table limits...all of which leaves more money to spend on my favorite TER girls of Vegas. Plus it's easier to move from one casino to another, there are great new restaurants and fun, entertaining things to do. Most of the hotels have been refurbished and it's just a great place to enjoy Vegas. If you like "people watching" there is no better place than The Fremont Street Experience.  I have stayed at the GN, The Plaza, The D, The El Cortez, Four Queens, even the Golden Gate. The Nugget is the Gold Standard for downtown. If you haven't tried downtown check it out. You will be glad you did.

Visit often. I prefer downtown. Just booked for January and went with Golden Gate. Price for a suite at Gate considerably less than just a regular room at the Nugget. Suites are nearest the elevators good size and modern. I rent a car and valet in and out is super ez. Oh yeah a great shrimp cocktail:):)

I do enjoy downtown Vegas.

However, with sensitive skin and allergies, some of the older downtown hotels trigger my body into an unpleasant condition.

In all honesty, I've only been to two hotel/casinos downtown.  I won't name names, but one was refurbished and very pleasant.  The other was uncomfortable with a mold/mildew smell in the entire property.  (Yet, they had also refurbished but blegggh.)

While I don't mind visiting locations that aren't "top level," I DO mind visiting locations that will trigger my skin to break out in hives or cause my ear, nose, or throat to react badly due to smoke or mold.

My advice is to simply ask your companion if she's been to XYZ location and if so, is she comfortable visiting at that location.  And if not, why?  Is there is an alternative location that may be available for a meeting?

My best,
Lynett
