I'm in my early 30's visiting the first week of October but prices and availability have jumped quite a bit for many hotels (like $500-600 per night).  I normally stay at Cosmo, but considering others because of the crazy prices during the dates I'll be in town.

I have kind of been looking at Nobu at Caesar's, The Cromwell, Bellagio, or... any suggestions?

any lady is lucky enough to walk up with you!

all three are fine.

cromwell is such a fun hip new money vibe and their furnishings are just great.
nobu, unless you have a suite, the rooms all seem smaller to me.
bellagio, you can't go wrong. great rooms, great restaurants

Has a nice boutique hotel feel and the rooms are nice.Bellagio is also another option I would also recommend the spa tower.
Have you looked off of the strip such as the Hard Rock Hotel,Platinum hotel,or westin?

Thanks for the input Jayda, but prefer to stay as central as I can because of proximity and easiness of getting around while I'm in town. ;)

It's another great location and the rooms are nice! They have great dining options, but they do have security if you are going to hobby. I do like the Cromwell, but haven't seen the room. It is another great location and Drea's Day Club is hopping! If I were you Check out the link I added for rooms and opinions.

Wynn is overrated, in my humble opinion. Encore, may be your best choice based on your age.Caesar's is ok, but too much "old" money.

...is a bit of a hike to the rest of the hotel/casino. But you can access the south end of the pool from the ground floor.

It is pretty much central in the strip like he said across from Caesar's and Bally's.
You mentioned Bellagio the Cromwell is literally right across the street on the corner.

depends on what your needs are. I always like updated technology...i.e. HD TV's.

Cheap option is
LINQ, but a pain to park.

Encore are in the middle of upgrades.

Also, Mandalay Bay and Delano (the best rooms)

Appreciate the advice, some of the other suggestions make it appear like I'm 70 years old lol :-)

I may check out Encore, but the avg rate for a basic room during the time I will be in town is around $750 per night!

I like nice places, but that's topping my budget for just a place to sleep for a few hours each night while I'm in town.

Then before you know it, you'll get discounts on rooms and all sort of perks depending on how you play. Wynn/Encore have the Red Card,Bellagio and Aria have the MLife Card, Caesar's has Total Rewards. It pays off in the long run.
Good Luck

It's just very quiet. It doesn't have that "appeal". The Casino is small, mostly empty.I've never stayed there but I've played there and it's so so.

If you're looking for a nice place to stay at an affordable rate try Hotwire where you pick a mystery hotel. The trick is to find the "Recommend" tab and choose 90-100% approval and also choose the area you like.

You didn't state the exact dates, but a search for a room the entire first week of October provided plenty of choices well under your "alarmist" rate!   South Pointe is a great option.   For a room on the strip, check the Monte Carlo.

I had good luck with M-Life and Total Rewards. I got free rooms at the Mirage and the Rio. If you gamble and use a points card, call to see if they will cut you a break.

Nice place, for me just ok to gamble...But no security check at the elevators-at least the last time I was there.  Very nice pool..  Lower rates than Encore and great restaurants.  They also have a nice terrace so you can get freaky on the terrace......

That's where I usually stay, but the most basic room they're offering for 4 nights is about $2,500 - which got me looking at alternatives. Especially when I've stayed there before at half the price. :-/

The days I'm visiting have all of the prices for most of the hotels jacked up.

The Cosmo is my go-to hotel as well. Just booked for 3 nights/2nd weekend in October for $1100, not the basic room, one of the 1-bedroom suites. I was looking into other properties and almost went w the Venetian for about the same rate but I like to be at/near the center of the Strip so I went w the Cosmo again. PH & the Bellagio are also regular hotels for me as but if you don't park valet at PH, prepare for a 6-7 minute walk from the mall parking structure to either tower elevator. Paris & Bally's are ok, I'm just not a fan of the decor in the rooms. Haven't stayed at the other central properties, Nobu & the Cromwell but may just try them in the next few months.

Some others I like away from the center Strip are the Signature (another long walk, this time to the casino), the Hard Rock HRH Tower, Palms Place, Aria, the Monte Carlo and the aforementioned Venetian.

Someone mentioned the players cards for each property. I second that recommendation even if you don't play much, they will still send you special offers. I still get offers for places I haven't stayed and/or played in 1-2 years.

Good luck in your search & have a great trip
