Stock options vested, need ideas for celebrating

Thanks to the joy that are stock options, I just came into a pretty large sum of money which begs spending on the night(s), day(s), weekend of my life. But, being new to SD, I have no idea on the best idea so I thought I would defer to your collective wisdom.I am sure a lot of people will suggest that I go to LA or NYC but I'd rather spend more money on company than air fare. So.. if you had the ability to spend 2-3K on the best time of your life, how would you do it and with whom ? I know everyone's mileage varies but I am sure there are some safe bets for a great time out there - care to share them? I'll let everyone know what I choose (if anyone cares!).TD

It must feel great to become afficlted with "sudden instant wealth syndrom"...the esteemed Mr. Greenspan recently did his damndest to put me in the opposite category.  I survived it, but that's another story...I'd suggest you do a thorough research of the reviews, which you can do simply by city, or by your specific "requirements"...there's more great gals to see than I have the time, money (or stamina) for.  I'm not personally familiar with the San Diego ladies, but that area & Orange County both seem to have fewer good choices than LA.  There ARE exceptions, I'm only generalizing.  But I'm sure wherever in S Calif you look there will be some marvelous lady willing to make the short jaunt to San Diego provided you compensate her accordingly.  And hey, whoever said you have to fly between LA & San Diego?  Does anyone really do that?  It's less than a 2hr drive.Good luck.

Dman, I'm sure you're right about the commute time.  Living east of LA as I do, I take the #15 & had forgotten how congested traffic can get on the #5.  BTW, I wasn't slamming the idea of anyone using the friendly skies.

The single worst thing is to try to get from San Diego to the San Fernando Valley in a reasonable amount of time on a Friday Afternoon.  There are no direct flights from SD to Burbank, and it is EASILY a 5 hour drive anywhere around commute time.

No kidding, it can take 2 hours to get from downtown SD to Oceanside on a Friday evening, let alone see the bright lights of LA.Well I feel guilty about having turned this board into a discussion of So CA traffic patterns, was hoping to find out more about good companions :) Had an interesting suggestion from HeatherBarron that I may go with...Greywolf, I wish I could say I had "instant wealth" but it is not that large a sum. Enough to make me go a little bit crazy and put a little nest egg away, but Bill Gates isn't going to be coming to me for handouts any time soon :)Have fun allTD

We all have!  Of course, whatever you and I made is just rounding error in this particular calculation, since Bill is at NEGATIVE $38 Billion on the year so far!

Alas, I have not been able to hook up with her due to some crazy work hours I've been pulling.  But everyone who sees her says she's great.

With that kind of money I'd strongly recommend Hope Taylor from Chicago.  She used to live here (she went by Jeanine and Tara) and still comes to town a few times a year.  Bigdoggie and Foxfiles rate her as one of the top 20 in the country, and I honestly can't imagine what the 19 ahead of her do to get better ratings.  Truly the best I've ever experienced by a long way.  Check out www.5senses.to
