I recently met a provider in Palm Harbor section of Tampa Bay Area who is open to meet prospective hobbyists interested in her to get acquainted.    She discreetly called my manager at work and requested if I could leave 30 minutes earlier to meet her for coffee at Starbucks .    She was so discreet but just enough inquiring about me and got the information she wanted about me.    We met at  Starbucks and had a very nice, friendly and open conversation.     It was the most safe and public place for both of us.     She was happy that I had taken a small gift.    Our date a week later turned out to be fantastic as we knew each other.     No more opening the door wondering how he/she looks like, no more bait and switch, no more "oh she is not the girl in the picture", no more "she has put on 25 pounds after her picture was taken".

How many of you ladies and gentlemen on this board think this was and is really a good way to set up a date.

Not many of them are willing to do what this one did, however it was a nice gesture on her part.  For me, that would have been a pretty long drive just to have a cup of coffee, so I'm not sure I would have done it.  Calling your boss and asking if you could leave work early is not something most guys would want, I can't imagine what excuse she used to make that request.  It could have placed your job in jeopardy.  I'm glad it worked out for you but not sure if it would be like that for others.

As already mentioned, most ladies already have a screening procedure, as do you through reviews, websites, ect. The higher end ladies don't need the extra warm fuzzy feeling before a date. Yes, it is nice when it happens, but that is the exception rather than the rule! Happy hobbying and be safe.

Dude you're either an idiot for giving her your work info or this is BS. Based on your history I call both.

What history?   I don't even have posted a review LOL!   She told my manager that she has decided to sell her car to me and wanted to meet me ASAP.    Turned out to be harmless and worked out well.   No BS and again what is my history anyway?

I think your lack of history is the whole point. Swim and KK are right- few reputable ladies would be willing to waste the time. If you provided me your employment info, I wouldn't need to meet you ahead of time. When you do provide such very personal info, it helps to be sure the lady isn't looney. Reviews are indispensable for this! Make sure she has a few and make sure her reviewers have a few too.

This time it looks like it worked out for you (so far), but seasoned gents here have seen or experienced too many stories in which such situations didn't turn out so well. The lady could be a thief, blackmailer, whatever, and then you're screwed. You say you've been lurking here for a long time so hopefully you know all of this. But just in case a little reminder never hurts!

Ladies with a reputation to uphold (good reviews, part of a community, etc) have more to lose and are less likely to go BSC on you. Best of luck!

Thanks you just made my point. You have NO history. And you post this BS and expect us to believe it. I rest my case.

And if I was your manager and got a call like this my BS meter would go nuts. Why is she calling ME about YOUR car? You've been lurking here yet you've given some gal your work info, bosses name and number plus your real name? Others here are far more gentle with your BS. Not Mr Banshee. Quit wasting our space time waster.

So, what happened when you showed up at work without a car?  I gotta be straight with you, you are setting off my bullshit detector.

I told my manager I did not like the car's interior.    I did not hurt or harm anyone.    If someone thinks something is BS, ignore and move on.    Don't post and say I wasted your time!  LOL.

....you sure did step right in it. Obviously you have not been lurking & reading the board long enough.

Welcome to the board again, lol....you got whacked a bit now didn't you?
Might want to reconsider lurking.....it's safer!

this board goes all out on any one that does not conform to their standards. Of course I think you are crazy for giving out personal info but that is just me. but I would not jump on you for doing it it is your choice. Now I am looking forward to your review.

Thanks pal.    Now I know there is "political correctness" in this board and I thought it was only in US Congress!    Fortunately I am not in politics or in to it, so I will move on.

Leaving this board for the "regulars" and all the political correctness.
