I need to book a hotel room in Tampa and I want to do it without giving my ID.  Of course willing to pay cash. Are there any hotels in Tampa (preferably Westshore area) that will let you check in under an assumed name and not ask for ID?  Any suggestions about the process for doing this....

Those are almost all upperscale establishments.  To make a res in advance, you will have to use a credit card just about anywhere, esp in that area of town.

I don't know of any decent hotel that lets you check in without an ID and a credit card any more- you'd have to find some "no-tell" motel or some small family operated place

Even if you have cash for the deposit, they want to know WHO is in their room. Why not have a provider book a room and do incall? Done deal.

Have you any idea how many hotels send you email (even worse) real mail about deals thanking you for your recent stay? His credit card will also have a temporary authorization of his deposit, so that's 'why' lol. The logical question should be, why not do incall lol.

As for getting a fake ID... seriously? You think he has issues now. Is he going to get a fake credit card to go with that fake ID so they match? Any DECENT hotel requires a credit card AND ID and no provider I know is going to meet you at a Motel 6.

Thank you everyone for your advice.  I believe I have resolved the issue.  Cash is king.
