Hi, Sarah, it was delightful to meet you at the M&G. That's the Thames embankment in London, with the very distinctive lamp posts and a skyscraper that wasn't there last time I was. And if I could figure out how to attach a pic to this reply, I'd happily send another one or two.
To post a photo, just look for what you want on google images, click the thumbnail for the image, click on "view photo" (*not* "View page"), copy that URL (it should end with a .jpg), and paste it to the box at the bottom of the reply box that says "Photo URL". The photo will appear once you post it! And yes, It's London. I'd love to guess yours!

This is a personal photo, not a Google image, but let's see if it works:

It's London! Along the Thames, Embankment side. They are along the Southbank side as well. It's such a beautiful walk! When I lived there, I used to run along the Thames.
When I saw the photo, my immediate guess was Windsor, as I lived there for a time near the high street. But it wasn't the castle in the background, and that's what threw me. I know Windsor castle well, and there isn't any part of it that looks like that with 4 points, but I know that there's a famous church there called John the Baptist. So that's what I guessed. Then I researched it further, and when I zoom in on your photo, I noticed the location of the gift shop in your photo on the left side with the blue sign: Windsor Gifts and Souvenirs. That means your back is to the castle, and straight ahead on your right would be the church above the trees. And in that general direction is the Long Walk. Below is a picture of the castle with the church behind you and the gift shop on your right. And here's a link to a photo similar to yours with the gift shop on your left and the church straight ahead. The street is called Church St. http://www.spiritofengland.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/6small.jpg
Agh- that's a hard one. Looks like a German eagle on the building (or facade), and I thought it might be the Brandenburg Gate, but that's in the middle of a city. But the statuary in the foreground looks Roman, maybe Italy? So... I give up. Let's see if someone else can guess it!
Did you know Dali was a fascist? He was kicked out of the surrealist movement because of it. They say never meet your heroes. Ok- your turn to post so we can guess!
