i've been here in Atlanta for 2 years, trying to get into GSUs Masters of Library Media program.
i've decided that if i'm not accepted for this fall i will start trying another university and FSU suits.
(time to get on with my life!!)

question is: can a lady like me survive working this area or will i be having to day trip to tampa, etc. and working part time at barnes & noble?

i appreciate all input (ladies And fellows)... here, PM or click the 'email me' link on my page.
Thanks Much,
Nicole

Nicole,

Please contact me regarding Florida relocation. I earned my Master's in Library Science from FSU along with my media specialist certification. Instead of moving to Tallahassee, I would suggest moving to a major metropolitan area such as Miami, Tampa or Orlando. You can complete your *entire* master's degree and media specialist certification online through Florida State OR attend University of South Florida in Tampa, which has the same programs. Completing the degree online is more expensive, but it was well worth it for me. Classes are either from 6-8 p.m. or 8-10 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday nights. If you really pushed yourself, you could complete your degree and media specialist certification in 1.5 years. Only 42 credit hours are required. The last resort for me personally would be moving to Tallahassee. Tallahassee, while an amazing place to live when I was 18-22, just isn't the type of town for me now. There's a church on every corner, and it's very, very family and student oriented. I hope I was at least slightly helpful. Write anytime. [email protected].

you know the U of M should provide an excellent education, and as a bonus we do have great hockey here ;)

U of M doesn't offer a Master's in Library Science/Studies, and their football team doesn't offer much either:-)

god knows i love hockey, but ive already compromised my educational goals to have access to hockey and rollercoasters (and lots of work :)
it seemed a good compromise to do the MLM thru GSU and then do an online ALA, but i swear to god i am sick of waiting for my life...
not that i wont have to wait if i move to FL, out of state fees are INSANE... another reason i chose GSU, pretty damn cheap for instate.
ive family in PC and stanta rosa beach, is why i was thinking tallahassee.  theres an FSU campus at PC, but i dont see that i can do it there.

ive got the ALA/LIS by state list of schools and for tallahassee it says i can distance learn from Kentucky, Miami-Dade Public Library, Jacksonville Public Library.
kentucky??

thunderstorms and my internet connection dont mix or i'd have emailed already ;)
