Cheap airfare?

Have you found any good choices for cheap airfare from the NE US to Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, or Brussels?  Most of what I find is in the $650 range.

Is that New England or Nebraska? I'm in DC and cheapest I've found so far for April is 750-800 range.

I think he means Northeast, e.g., NYC, DC, Phil, etc. Actually, the $650 is not bad. That was the best I've found from Atlanta...

Sorry for the confusion, I didn't know anyone in Nebraska hobbied.  I wasn't specific as to an airport, because there are other alternatives to BOS.

It seems the best time to book airfare to FRA is couple of months prior to the trip.

I was just doing research on fares from Washington DC for first week of Feb, and they are little shy of $700. However, fares for first week of May are almost $1,000

February is low season. Once we get past April and more people start going across the pond, prices spike.

Oh, and Germany just enacted an airfare "green" tax similar to Great Britain's. I think it's adding about $100 to the price of tickets from the USA. You might want to try AMS or ZRH.

Thanks Bob.  As you can see I don't fly much.

Fares from DC to ZUR, for 1st Week of May, are indeed cheaper (about $700), but then I've to get train from ZUR to FRA which costs about $200, so it ends up being the same.

I saw 90 euro fares round-trip during the week you were going, Zürich-Düsseldorf. If you're really pinching pennies hard, the NRW clubs nearer to DUS will be kinder to your wallet than the Hessen ones near to FRA- generally the entry fees are lower (more like 50 € instead of 65-75) and the service fees are a bit lower as well.

There are other carriers like Germanwings and Easyjet you might be able to use as well for an intra-Europe hop. (Even Ryanair, though a number of people think they are tacky- you get fees for EVERYTHING.)

Also, Air Berlin has a decent fare going JFK-DUS (if you don't mind hoofing it on your own to JFK somehow)- $600. Plus you can buy a 25 euro (each way) rail ticket in conjunction with it if you DO want to hit Frankfurt (look on Air Berlin's site for "rail and fly").

Thanks a lot for providing different options. I will see which makes most sense.
