Using turn signals will give away your next move. A real california driver never uses them.
Under no circumstances should you leave a safe distance bewtwwen you & the car in front of you...the space will immediately be filled by someone else, puting you in an even more dangerous situation.
Crossing two or more lanes in a single lane change is considered going with the flow.
The faster you drive through a red light the less chance you have of getting hit.
Never come to a complete stop at a stop sign. No one expects it thus you'll likely be rear-ended. However, if you already need a new bumper & would like the insurance company to pay for it, full & complete stops are recommended.
Never get in the way of an older car in need of extensive bodywork. California is a no-fault insurance state, so the other guy doesn't have anything to lose.
Braking should always be done as hard & as late as possible to ensure that the ABS system kicks in, resulting in a nice foot massage as the pedal pulsates. For those of you without ABS, it's a perfect opportunity to stretch your legs.
Speed limits are arbitrary figures, given only as suggestions & apparently not enforceable in California during rush hour.
Don't think that just because you're in the left lane with no room to speed up or pass or move over that a California driver behind you won't flash his high beams thinking he can go faster if he's in your spot.
