I have FINALLY finished answering the literally hundreds of emails and phone calls I received relative to my post about my friend Cheryl.

The details as I know them from the police are this:  Cheryl of Chicago was murdered.  Everyone is a suspect and nothing is being ruled out.

To the person who was concerned about police....I have been interviewed by them myself.  THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT WHAT I DO.  THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT HOBBYISTS.....THEY CARE ABOUT SOLVING THIS MURDER.

You know what guys?????  I believe these detectives with all my heart and soul.  These men are decent and are working very very hard to solve this case as well as to respect our privacy because of this hobby.

After reading this if any gentlemen out there still have concerns, please feel free to email me.

Because the press has now gotten ahold of this....I am worried very much about my privacy and have disconnected my cell phone until at least Monday.  EMAIL UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE PLEASE.

Do we have a "Jack the Ripper" out there?
Below, is a copy of today's Chicago Tribune online. It seems that there have been more than just Cheryl. Everyone needs to be very careful. Now these claim to be on the south side. I don't know where Cheryl lives or if she's one of the three but, definetly a cause for concern to all.

Police issue warning after killings of women

Published November 26, 2004

SOUTH SIDE -- Three violent homicides recently on the South Side have prompted Chicago police to issue a warning to women with "high-risk lifestyles."

In a citywide alert, police urged women who engage in prostitution or use drugs to stay out of isolated areas, travel with others and report suspicious activity.

"Seek help for your dependency and encourage friends to do the same," police said in a statement Wednesday from the Calumet Detective Division.

All three victims were beaten, and one was strangled, police said.

The victims were found in isolated areas, including an alley in the 10400 block of South Michigan Avenue.

Ieline Moore-Myrick, 49, of the 9900 block of South Parnell Avenue was found Saturday along railroad tracks in the 400 block of West 104th Street, a Cook County medical examiner's spokesman said Thursday.

She died of multiple injuries and her death was ruled a homicide, the spokesman said.

And like I said before. My phone rings 24/7 if you need.   (Pogo)

Kelly,
Thank you for sharing the information.  I can only speak for myself, but as a hobbyist, I feel sickened and a little afraid about seeing anyone right now.  I can't begin to imagine how a provider must feel.
But the fact that so many are sharing information and reaching out the "safest" way we can think of, through email and internet, makes me think that this community is a very strong and positive one.
It also makes me think that some providers must have come into contact with this nutjob somewhere along the line and maybe not known it.  Sharing information is our best tool in ferreting out this creep.  Our community, from both sides of the fence, has to keep up communication as best we can in order to prevent something like this destroy us.
God bless you, Kelly, for all your words and involvement.  I hope and pray they catch this bastard soon and we can all feel a little less uneasy.

It's very sad that this tragedy came to pass. I'll keep Cheryl of Chicago and Lundon of Atlanta and their close friends and family in my prayers.

Providers need to take extra caution in screening and reading the character of clients and men in general.

I am not only saddened but shocked by this turn of events. Even though we don't yet know the circumstances of this tragic death, I am sticking with those providers that I know and know me for a while.

We need to respect the fear and apprehension these poor girls must be feeling.

I have also told all my regular providers about this, as some don't use TER. I suggest everyone do the same.

With everyone worried about Cheryls' Computer - Her cell phone records only have the numbers that called  - time and date
how long the conversion were and the same for who she called
These records only take hours to get and go back a few months.
LE can get a warrant and have the info in about 12 hours. and its more recent veven if no answer - the only thing LE won't be able to get is the messages left - you have to know the code.

First let me offer my sincere condolences to those who knew Cheryl and her family. This career choice is fraught with so many perils, while appearing,at times, so innocuous, it seems it is only when a terrible incident like this occurs, that we are forced to confront the realities of providers' occupational hazards. I have a question, if anyone knows, about Cheryl's screening policy. Can anyone tell me what she did to prequalify appointments? The reason I ask is I have a very close personal friend who is provider. She and friends of hers are concerned about what Cheryl did, or didnt do, in screening her clients and if they are doing all they can.
To me it is very clear if others can benefit, in some way, from having this information as they run their business, the impotance and urgency of letting everyone know can not be understated. Thanks in advance for your help.
