I require one of two things....

So a "potential" client contacts me via telephone telling me he found my ad. He asked me for services then I asked him for his handle and claimed he didn't have any.  Anywho, question to my fellow providers do you see men who mention your ad but don't have an acct themselves? I feel men who know about these sites USUALLY have an acct with them.

Speaking as a guy who reads many ads, I think I'd say it depends on what ad he's referring to. If he saw you on P411, that's quite different than BP or CL for example.

Whether you choose to see him if he's not on TER or other sites, that's up to you. I'd just say that there are a lot of guys out there who are NOT on these sites...but you can still do your screening and due diligence to be safe. When in doubt, walk away. Same advice I give to the guys.

A TER handle with a long history of reviews of credible providers or full name and employment info. Far too many clowns want to post under an alias and assume we are going to accept that as verification, so yes... I require one of two things. Personally, I think I would rather part with my TER handle vs. real info. but hey... whatever lol.

He referred to an ad that is similar to TER... he claimed he had references but didn't go into detail... then asked was i able to submit.

don't create any profiles and handles for a while or even get screened. I usually apologize and wish the best. At this point, you can see their different attitudes if they reply sometimes in the different tones, saying "you too," or "you should feel sorry, you lose money!" Second choice of words can definitely put that person into my personal Ignore list.

Well...I'd like to know if you're "able to submit" too? And I do have references lol.

So a reference from Mom might not work either?

I know gents who do not post or join boards but have verifiable references. That is the key to the whole equation. She has to be someone I can research before I can accept her ok. I once had a gent who gave me a number to his siter for a reference. I have to admit she has known him her whole life but that did not cut it for me lol.

as well as fellow employee at current employment and ex-girlfriends.  I guess some think a reference is a personal reference not necessarily a provider reference.  It is funny but obviously not what we are looking for!

Did he really think it was okay for his mom to know the purpose of the reference? I guess there are all kinds of families out there... this seems pretty liberal if you ask me.

I don't go by handles since there is absolutely no way to verify a handle belongs to a certain human beings or if their shared or stolen.  They mean nothing to me as far as screening, I see no protection in having a guy's handle as far as screening.   My screening is all the same regardless of where they saw my ad.

If all a gal does is take the handle at face value never calling his refs, then no... pretty much fked. You have to make sure the handle belongs to the guy using it, and has the ladies to back that fact. I will not post how you do this in public, but it's not rocket science.
