It is uptown, but if you are staying near the arena, it is a bit of a walk: up hill 2 blocks, then over about 6, crossing the loop.

Thank you all for your help. Sounds like my first trip to Charlotte will be a special one. The " upcoming trip " , is in May , not this weekend. Plenty of time to finalize plans.
