Anyone get really into this 80's and early 90's?  As a kid growing up I couldnt get enough of it.  I have since graduated to watching MMA, but back in the day, other than Van Damme movies this was my passion.  And my favorite one of all time was the guy who came out like a maniac and made you think he was gonna kill anything in his path.  The Ulitmate Warrior!  There were several old school guys I loved, but he was my fave!  Anyone else have favorites?

"To be the man, you gotta beat the man" Wooooooo!

Some of his "bouts" with Lex Luger in the now defunct WCW were classics.

Is when wrestling was big for me. I loved mankind, but hated when my brothers would pull Mr. Socko on me :( *shudders* lol

I also vividly remember going through my "IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!!" stage lmfao seriously the answer to any question. Pissed my mom off, annoyed my brothers, and it made me laugh so hard! I guess it still has that effect on me, because I am laughing so hard right now!

Oh man, I remember lifting weights all week and then watching the old wrestling based in Charlotte on Saturday afternoons.  It blew me away that Ric Flair was making 500K just for walking around and going "Whoooooo!"  Magnum T.A. was cool too, with his killer mullet.  Ivan Koloff, Arn and Olie Anderson, and Jimmy "The Boogie Woogie Man!"  I actually went to a live show once just for grins, had free tickets.  It was just like your first pro football game, total amazement at how small everything really was.  I also remember going to see Bruce Lee movies as a kid with my friends.  Then we'd all go and kick the crap outta each other in the front yard!  Ah, remember when ya were young and indestructable?  Those were the days!  Thanks for bringing back those memories.

None of this fake HGH induced low IQ nonsense. And to you ladies who think you're pretty tough while you punch and kick a hanging bag in a gym somewhere....,Bring it on. A middle aged out of shape former varsity wrestler will have you pinned on the bed in no time.

I grapple alot, now and dont watch wrestling much anymore.  Its way too ridiculous anymore.  I know quite a few ladies who like to do MMA style stuff.  Ive had a few run-ins.  Nothing special, to be honest.  But I consider myself above average and I have a distinct advantage.  ;-)  The few women Ive rolled around with weren't bad at all but strength does play a part.  Joint manipulation can work wonders but Im usually strong enough to simply muscle out of most moves women have tried on me.  I literally have bicep flexed my way right out of a perfectly timed side arm-bar from a lady grappler.  Im always up for a good match though.  ;-)

as I know Ms. Rocchi is.  ;)

I can kick the crap out of you and then choke you out 5 different ways.  I'll even let you choose which way you want to go to sleep.  LOL

Funny story...I wrestled around a bit with someone I was seeing and he actually pulled an awesome move to my surprise, which would have broken my arm if he would have followed through.  But that just taught me to always follow through with the full movement that I am going for.  If my hands would have been where they should be in a real match, he would've never had the opportunity that I gave him.  There's a purpose for everything I've learned in MMA, and I always have to remember to practice it.  Or risk getting my wrist, arm, leg broken.

Girls rule!  Guys, no so much!  :D

Late 70's. Rasslin' came to my small college in MO. Ox Baker came to the frat house to drink post matches with his manager. He left about 2 days later. He was in 'Escape From NY' with Kurt Russell too. RIP.

a situation where you actually have to use these self-defense skills:(( But, I am glad that you have them in your quiver, should such ever come about! Wish all lil girls would get 'em!
Just use those dangerous weapons(legs) to hold a guys, uh, "attention" right where it will make you all weak all over until you are finished with him and then let him breathe;P~~~
On a lighter note, hope you all are watching UNC-EX TV music on this Saturday night---Early Motown just came on:))  OOOHH! Look at that 65 Mustang Convertible:))  Martha now singing "Love is Like a Heat Wave"  Or should that be "Loving" is like a heat wave:))---makes me all hot and bothered:)) Tonight just getting all rested up for next week, and the week after:))~~

Piper all the way. The Carolinas are Piper Country. That guy could back up Whatever he said. And when he wrestled, he went all out. Last thing anybody wanted to do was to get in the ring w/ Roddy when he was on fire. He also good on the Mic. The man had no filter, he said what he really needed to say and had no filter/never sugar coated anything.

Be nice. I'm a fan and there is a good ass kicking that ends up with sweat-soaked sheets and smiles, and then there is the type that leaves marks and draws blood. I'm down for the first kind. I'm marked up enough as it is.

Few people know he had a master degree and was actually a school teacher. That is why we only saw him in summer months (regularly) and PPVs that were on week-ends.

My brother loved this guy when I was growing up. LOL, I remember walking in one day when young and David said, "Cis" Let me show you "The CLAW"......Next thing I knew I was thrown over his head into a piece of furniture. All in fun, yet it drove my Mother nuts! Love the memories of childhood. Kelley
