I'm looking for recommendations on where to have dinner dates in Vancouver.
I love Blue Water, and usually choose that restaurant as a first choice. The Rain City Grill and C were both top choices, but both have now closed. What are some other good options for high-end restaurants in the downtown core? Thanks for any help Holly Taylor
Well, for sheer romance and upscale fine dining there's the Five Sails. It screams so much old-school romance you'll probably get a marriage proposal before dessert!
Just what temperature on the date thermometer do you want? Marriage proposal - gooey deep romance- fall in love - first date/testing the waters - hot guy/hope we knock off a piece after dinner - kick back as friends - I want a free fantastic meal then I'm gonna' run?

I'm not really interested in receiving marriage proposals from my clients, lovely as they may be. I'm just trying to gather a list of the best dinner date restaurants in Vancouver. Holly
I like Joe Fortes. In the same class as Blue Water.
If the client is from out-of-town, maybe something that incorporates a Vancouver aura to it e.g; Seasons in the Park or one of the two restaurants in Stanley Park: Fish House, Teahouse.
Blue Water is no doubt one of my favs. Best seafood bar none. Around downtown, try these other favs:
Hawksworth Tableau Bar Bistro Chambar Le Crocodile Miku / Minami Gotham Steakhouse More of YVR's best can be found in the current edition of Vancouver Magazine: 2015 Restaurant Awards. Happy dining!
Hawksworth is always my first choice for high-end but I like to mix things up and experience the entire hotel by starting with a drink at Prohibition, head to dinner, and then end the night of with some dessert at the rooftop Reflections Lounge.
Kobe is always fun since you get to have an interactive dinner experience, Benihana style.
Went on a date to Forage the other night and loved it, it's a new concept local kitchen (not so high-end but the food level is gourmet and it's a great try if you're both health conscious) Kingyo or Guu is awesome for Japanese style Izakaya but you can't beat Joe Fortes rooftop or Cardero's for seafood and romantic oysters.
