While I am a native New Englander and have traveled into Boston for many years I believe I have the wrong impression of what constitutes " Metro-west". I was under the impression that the area contingent to the Mass Pike west of 128 was Metro-West but it seems others consider Lexington, Burlington and even others to be part of Metro-west. The reason I ask is because I travel into the Boston area from either the south or west and am having nightmares with the traffic. My last 3 trips a return trip of approximately 55 miles have taken 2, 2 /2 and 3 1/2 hours. It is getting to be that I may no longer hobby in the greater Boston area. Obviously  I need to plan more carefully but I could use some education on the correct geography.
And yes I am using a GPS ( in fact 2 different ones).
Thank you for telling this misguided soul where to go😎

I was told a girl was in the Dedham Waltham area.. but then had to drive to Bedford & back from the South Shore. Now I ask a few questions.

and consider Metro West to be the area along the Mass Pike, approximately 10 miles north or south, from I495 to I95 (128).    If it had a capital city, it would be Framingham

Thank you, that is exactly what I thought but you expressed it more definitively than I did.

The MetroWest Economic Research Center at Framingham State University defines MetroWest as the nine towns of Ashland, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton, Natick, Sherborn, Southborough, Sudbury, and Wayland

is like saying the Boston/Andover area. I think what
it can also mean is either the Dedham or MetWest area.

I've seen Chloe post Candy in Manchester, NH and in
MetroWest on the same day. Lucky me, she did MW...
then drove north after a great dance.

Officially (as described above), metrowest is centered at I90 (the Mass Pike) and 495 and escorts go to Marlborough, Westborough, and Framingham.

However a lot of providers, like Chloe's Companions as an example, consider Metrowest to be "west of Boston" with locations like Newton/Waltham/Needham, Dedham/Norwood,

As for your main question about traffic, this is somewhat predictable based on commuting patterns and there are times of the day when you should be able to do the 55 miles in roughly an hour.  In general early afternoon is a great time to travel and also to be able to check in right away.

Very good!  I grew up in Framingham.  Wayland and sometimes Sudbury are often overlooked as being part of Metro West?
