Hi everyone,

After a long time away from the city I will be in Boston next week for business / training. I'm really excited to come back and spend time downtown after so long. Some of my favorite restaurants are here in Boston!

But that being said, I'm also looking to try new places. Of course I'll make time to visit my favorites (Smith & Wollensky, Taranta) but this time around I want to try something new. So I was wondering if hobbyists and providers had any suggestions for places to eat in Boston. I will be staying near Government Center and I prefer steak, seafood, and a good burger. What are your favorite places to eat in Boston?

I'm open to any suggestions. I might also be looking for company during my time in the city but I will leave that for another post : )

Thanks in advance!

I recommend the Kinsdale which is right across from City Hall in the Govt. Center complex.

It's a Irish themed pub/restaurant, and I've always had great luck there including with their burgers when that's what tickles your fancy.

Oops!

When I've visited, I've been to Marliave and absolutely loved it there.
The Merchant is also a pretty good place, little more laid back but has a nice ambiance.

:)

How long have you been away?  Don't go looking for Buzzy's at Charles-MGH Station anymore.  Shut down in 2002.  Sic Transit Gloria Mundi.  Or do I mean Sic Transit Gloria Buzzy

This past weekend I ate in two amazing restaurants in Boston.  One is called Sorellina's and the other one, despite being part of a chain is the OceanAire Seafood Room and it was fantastic.   Either place will cost you around $80 or more a person but they are worth it. Enjoy.

There was nothing like lumbering up to the window at Buzzy's after midnight, shitfaced and hungry, and chowing down a RB sandwich or two.
