The kind folks at TER have finally heard my requests to add a BDSM message board, and were kind enough to allow me to moderate.

What qualifies me, you might ask?

I would probably be best categorized as a fairly "vanilla"-looking guy who is a Switch lifestyler on the side.  (Ooooh!  Secret life!)  I've been in The Scene for quite a while now, first having been introduced to it via Threshold.  For those not aware of Threshold (see: Threshold.org), they are Los Angeles' biggest BDSM group.  Threshold is a terrific place to learn, as well as to meet fellow kinksters at "munches" (laid-back lunches) and at play parties.  They have (almost) weekly classes, and, over the course of a year, cover just about any subject your kinky heart desires.  (I went to an excellent one recently on fire play, which is really kind of edge play, not necessarily for beginners.  But I digress . . .)  I was Threshold's librarian for several years and amassed a collection of books that I've been told university students beg to have access to when researching papers for their human sexuality classes.  I also was involved in play party set-up/tear-down before we had a permanent location (yes, moving all of that heavy equipment), and was a frequent writing contributor to their newsletter.

I'm still a member of Threshold, but there are some other excellent clubs in the area as well.  Lair De Sade is also in North Hollywood (pretty close to Threshold) and tends to be my main "hang" these days.  Bordello of Decadence in Rosemead is also a fantastic new club, and there's Dragons Gate Studios in Orange County.  I'm rarely in the O.C., but I can tell you that LdS and BoD also have some amazing educational classes.

I'll not make this first message TOO long, but I'm glad to at least attempt to answer any questions those of you who are curious might have, and I'll post some messages about things that might be of interest to my fellow kinksters.
