This kind of brings the discussion back to Dom/me ethics, which I don't mind at all . . .

The lifestyle BDSM clubs would typically say that you should never, ever, ever do this, EVER!, but the reality is that a single beer or a single glass of wine beforehand might be acceptable.  The problem, ultimately, is that you cannot get an accurate reading of the submissive's "state" if you introduce drinking or drugs, and that's a path to doing a lot of accidental damage.  In my own play, I've both refused to submit and refused to dominate playmates whose eyes betrayed that they were impaired, and I'm glad I did.

Since i am the Bottom/submissive/slave in the scenarios and my clients are the Tops/Dom with whappie things and clampy thingies and electrical stuff and stuff in general that is ouchie for me, No altered states of mind are allowed.  It is such a no brainier as to way.

It's just not a good idea.  Some women get a little drunk over one glass of wine.  Then, when you're in a certain mind state, you just cannot have the facilities to actually make the correct choices especially if you're doing dangerous stuff that you shouldn't be doing anyway but is hot ... like asphyxiation play.

Of course, we can say that it's a bad idea all day long and people will still do edge play while being drunk, etc.  It's too bad, though.  Having a clear head and your full mind working while playing in this fashion is a lot more intense ... honest! ... if you're sober.

Common sense prevails. Kiley, I'm right with you on this one...in my personal life I like to relax a lil. In pro-time...depends on the situation I think. Let's go have a drink and tell stories on this one. I've witnessed some hardcore drug use before/during/after a needle scene in lifestyle situation by both top/bottom.. and I walked right out the front door. I've also had days where I'm booked full all day with known strapon friends and 420'd the whole way through. I've witnessed a Domme on multiple chemicals simultaneously during a pro session, and I gotta say, it wasnt a successful or productive session. It still wasnt dangerous, because the activities werent dangerous. It was irresponsible but not deadly. Somewhere in the middle of the extremes...where common sense lies, I seem to remember having 3 straight shots of rum before my first bottoming experience. I would never do that as a pro Top. I think it depends on the situation, the players, the setting...and it definitely depends on if the no fun having safety police are watching.
In reality, C'mon, we've spent a considerable amount of time preparing for a session if its something hardcore...something like that, I wouldnt even consider being altered for but if its a favorite hottie who likes a bumrush in the swing...eh.
