Sounds like it might be slang for dining at the Y, but, for those who don't know, a "Munch" is a lunch or dinner event where kinksters meet on a more informal basis.  For those who attend play parties and fetish clubs, you'll often seen couples already "partnered up" and a dearth of single women (although usually some single men), and the little-known secret is that these people often met in advance, probably at a Munch or similar event, discussed their interests and maybe even pre-negotiated a scene well in advance of the start of a party or club night scene.

Meeting people in person, instead of just on-line, is always highly advisable, and the best way to know that you aren't playing with a psychopath is to see how warmly embraced that person is by their fellow kinksters.  It's usually the lone wolves that turn out to be criminals presenting to be in the scene.

Here's a nice link I found with some guidelines about how to conduct yourself at a Munch.  Pretty common-sense stuff, but worth a read . . .

meet at the Food Court at a mall. We used to meet in a mid-range restaurant until they decided that we didn't order enough food (even though nearly everyone there always ordered something). We all heard later, through the grapevine, that it was because we were talking openly about sex and BDSM in a "family" restaurant.

Pssh! We'd been meeting there (in a mostly separated room) for 10 years and suddenly, the new manager gets a feather up his bum?

So now we're in a more public place, but our conversations are a little dragging and there aren't nearly the people who used to come to the munches.
