I have had trouble getting that image out of my head

I imagine a trampling board controlled by you with shoes with cleats.  I just can't make it work for me (not that you ever meant to invite me to join you.); but it is a very arresting image.

Only one problem - they don't make golf cleats/spikes anymore...

...Today they use soft spikes - rubber nubs - so as not to damage the golf course.  If it's any consolation, this brand calls their soft spikes "Black Widow."  :-)
