There are times in one’s life where no matter what static the world around you may present, you can still sit back and clearly see the love and good in people.  It is truly a thing of beauty when friends and strangers get together and give of themselves unselfishly.  And it never hurts to have a fun time in the process.

Thanks to everyone who contributed last night to the Toys for Tots campaign.  I was floored by your generosity and humbled that you would humor an old gent with his sometimes silly pursuit of fun and charity.  Thanks to Ravin Fan for running errands for me, and to Katie, for bringing her fan club.  It was great meeting so many new friends.  A special thanks goes out to Sade Nickole, for her help and support as well as Donna the DAK for her help in the logistics and keeping a crazy elf focused.  You are my go-to girls, and I love y’all for that.

There are many others who helped out and contributed generously, whether they attended the get-together or not, and I plan to thank each of you personally… it may take a while; the list grows bigger each year.

But the most important part is you helped children receive a toy for the holidays.  Without the help of good friends like you supporting this charity, these kids might not get to enjoy a toy.  You will never know who receives the gift, and what the circumstances were that put them in this unfortunate situation where they had to rely on the help of strangers.  But know this, it is greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. I know because I was one of those children.
