but in my case it was May 1988 after smoking for 19 years. I guess I have 29 years smoke free. Best decision I ever made and I am sure you feel the same. The first year is the hardest, congratulations again.
Congrats stockings! Way to go.
Not trying to hijack the thread, but I've been vaping for a few years now. I started at 24 mg strength but am down to 6 mg liquid. I tend to only vape on weekends or F'd Up Stress work days (maybe 2-3 x a week).Figured I was too old to handle all three, so gave up the obvious one - LOL!
Seriously though, after several years I no longer reacted with the urge when I smelled smoke. And my doc says my lung xrays look like a non-smoker's. And that's after 20 years of 2 packs a day. Still enjoying the whiskey and wild, wild women (like Ginger) though! That's what help me quit smoking was hitting the Vape pipe when I first stopped. The cheap convenient store type with 2.4 nicotine. I still hit it every now and then when stressed, but just knowing it is in the draw is a help. How sad.
I to went to the Pulminologist to have lungs checked and said I was "great" given I smoked 30 years. Didn't have the heart to tell about all the weed I smoked in HS and collegeYes, I'm being a good girl by not smoking. I quit cold turkey February 2015. Even though I have gained some weight (you know I've just gotta have something in my mouth, and I can't help but swallow) it's still the best thing I've ever done.
Not too long ago, I was in a class and the teacher asked us, "What is one thing you could start doing today that would change your life?" The answers came like firecrackers. Then she said to us, "Ok, now I want you to think about one thing you could QUIT doing today that would change your life." I didn't want to take that class, but now, I'm so glad I did. I'm so happy for you S69! It's not an easy thing to do, but you did it. And to anyone else who wants to quit but is having trouble, don't give up! If you want to pm me, please do. I don't know if I can give you advice on what works, but I can certainly give you words of encouragement. I did it, S69 did it, and YOU can do it too!I had to quit seeing you. You are so soft and sweet and your post here proves such. God I miss you. I was getting jealous reading other hobbyists review so I had to stop seeing u for fear of falling for you hard. Anyways, I wish you the best.

Well, if you had to dump me, I'm glad that's the reason
I wish you the best as well. See you at the next M&G! xoxoBest thing I ever did and wish I would have done it long ago! Didn't quit enjoying my weed though as I'm an old hippy! LOL ...But I did change to vaporizing it so as not to consume any smoke! That's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL
I am having a Brokeback Mountain moment:
“I wish I knew how to quit you.” or even better: "You got no fuckin idea how bad it gets. I'm not you. I can't make it on a couple a high-altitude fucks once or twice a year. You're too much for me, Ennis, you son of a whoreson bitch. I wish I knew how to quit you.”Currently working on quitting cigs now. I will go back to vaporing...it worked for me. Creme soda flavor, well okay...I will look forward to that.
