Jimmy, I don't doubt your good intentions. However, your concept of "idle conversation" only works if folks have all the info. If someone has not read the other threads you mention, it's hard to follow the current post. If you want to be sure people "get" what you are saying, either tag it onto the posts you reference, or provide more info.
Also, in my opinion, I don't think anyone would appreciate being kidded in a public forum about having to recover from seeing a lot of clients. No matter how light heartedly you meant it.
