I tried Viagra years ago when I truly did not need it, just because it was new. Once I got the " Blue Flash " it concerned me  was done with it for many years. In my 50s I started on Cialis for my hobby dates just because I wanted to be 100%. I have carried on with Cialis until now at 65 yo. My normal routine for a date is to take 10 mg the day before and a 20 Mg the morning of the date. I normally see providers early afternoon.  This process has worked well and I have no complaints except getting to sleep any night after I take Cialis ?  My perfect pill would hit hard and fast within a hour of taking it with no side affects that evening.  Any input or thoughts welcome !

You can speed up Viagra and probably Cialis by dissolving it in your mouth -- aka sublingual.  A lot of it gets destroyed in the stomach, so if you can take it under your tongue, you get a faster higher dose.  It's very bitter, though.  But I've had it work in 10 minutes that way.

Not specific to V / C, but IN GENERAL: do keep in mind that if you use the "sublingual rather than swallow whole" method that you might be getting a higher than prescribed dose. A 20 mg tablet or capsule taken according to directions (swallowed quickly) will have been studied during clinical trials and known to deliver only, say, 8 mg (let's call that the safe amount) to your bloodstream. If you do the sublingual trick, bypassing the plumbing that would normally break down more of the full 20 mg dose, you might end up with, say, 15 mg in your bloodstream and that might be unsafe for you. Just sayin' ...

Viagra lozenges disintegrate and dissolve in the mouth or beneath the tongue within 15-20 minutes.
Fast-acting Viagra lozenges promote quick absorption and rapid onset.  Viagra lozenges kick in faster than their tablet counterpart.  Since the lozenges are dissolved under the tongue they start working much faster than a tablet that has to pass through the digestive system.

Studies have shown that sublingual Viagra is safe and effective.

It's quite possible that Viagra in lozenge form is available only through compounding pharmacies like the one in the link.

I used Cialis for several years and it worked well then I started getting a reaction.  Resembled a bad sinus headache and got flushed.
Three years ago (I was 67) I got a titan coloplast inflatable penile implant.  Best thing I ever did.
I can pump it up and stay hard for hours.
Or I can raise and lower the flag at will.
Had surgery 6/25 and got clearance to play on 8/15.
My surgeon was a professor of urology at Jefferson hospital.  It does not extend the penis but it restores girth to your teenage years.  Sensitivity is as good or better than ever.  My hobby and civvy partners love it.
There are tons of YouTube videos.
My insurance paid 100%.  My only expense was the uber back and forth to the hospital.

My personal experience has been that Cialis is not as effective as Viagra but Levitra is better than either of them. The problem is that my health care doesn't cover Levitra and it's so damned expensive!

The solution to outrageous pharmaceutical costs is GoodRx. Check out their website for discounted prices at pharmacies near you. It's easy to use and free.

I was on Viagra for awhile, until it lost effectiveness.  Switched to Cialis, and it worked great, for awhile.  Now, I'm back on Viagra and have been getting pretty good (not great) results for some time.

As for immediate effectiveness, I find that I can take one Viagra when I'm on the way to my meeting, and am ready to go by the time the all of the pre-game niceties are done.

On a related note:  I took a 10 day vacation with my SO and popped Viagra every day.  When I got back I noticed a rash that was spreading on my leg.  By the time it finally got diagnosed as a 'chemical reaction' (after two biopsies), it had spread to almost the entire length of my leg.  Good news:  The doctor prescribed a cream that cleared the rash after a couple of weeks.

Just saw a tip from a youtube doc.  Don't take Viagra or Cialis on a full stomach.  It will delay it's effectiveness for hours.
.
Take them on an empty stomach.
.
Or put them under your tongue and let them dissolve there.  Yeah, bitter, but works.

My urologist also advised me to take Viagra on an empty stomach, or several hours after eating.

I had the mg of the pills incorrect in my original post . I take 5 mg the day before and 10 mg the day of the meeting. Sometime even going lower than that will no bad effects.

I have found the past few months that I don't always need it.  In fact, sometimes I pop a little faster than I would like.  The other important thing to look at is testosterone levels, total and free testosterone.  Once I started taking testosterone, it helped a lot.  However, free testosterone is also important and I have found that limiting alcohol intake plus certain supplements has helped that a lot.  As we get older our bodies start producing more sex hormone binding globulin which is produced in the liver and lowers free testosterone.  Being nice to your liver seems to really help.  This is also likely why a lot of alcoholics have trouble getting hard.

I understand your reasoning about testosterone, and may find it applicable.
.
Would you please say a bit more about what supplements and dietary adjustments you use, or recommend, to increase free T?  The one I have seen published is Boron 6mg/day.
.
I use very little alcohol so that's not my issue.
.
Thanks!

Stinging Nettle as standardized extract seems best in the herbal area.  Resveratrol is probably also worth trying plus has other health benefits.  Also, taking extra zinc might help.  If you take lots of zinc, it might be good to take 2 or 3 days off occasionally and take a copper for a day or two.
