60 and Over

So much to prepare for...

It's an Automated External Defibrillator.  I joke with my clients and tell them that if they stop breathing or have a heart attack, I WILL get their heart beating and get them breathing again long enough to get them out the door!  haha!  I am an Emergency First Responder.  I think it's good for all of us to know some basic life saving techniques.  We should all take a CPR class at the very least.

It can happen.  My fellow hobby buddy died because, even though he was having chest pains while he was with the lady, he insisted on attempting to drive to the hospital.  Bad mistake.  He never made it.

Accept medical attention when things go wrong, wherever you are or whoever you are with.  You can explain it later.

Live to hobby another day.

One man I knew there was something wrong but he said he just felt sick. He wanted me to leave so he could go to bed. He called me back while the helicopter arrived to take him to the emergency room and whisked to surgery. He made a  full recovery.

My other friend I visited at an out of area hotel every other week. Drove a fancy car with vanity plate. early 80's and married didn't want me to call for emergency help. We made it to his car and I drove to a parking lot up the street. He got in the Drivers side and dialed 911 from his cell. I was standing within view so I could watch them take him away in the ambulance. He recovered but not to the point he could drive so our dates ended.

I do have CPR training but not sure if I had to I could do it. Everyone should take a class to learn CPR and do a refresher every year. Time for me to book that class
