Summer is here and I am finally planning on a mini vacation. I was thinking about taking a cruise before but now I'm thinking it might be ideal to just take a trip to the Bahamas and stay a few days. There are so many wonderful islands out there. St Thomas is now popping up in my head lol.
Just curious, where have you been that you could say was truly a one in a lifetime experience?St Martin was great when I was there 20 years ago. I was on a honeymoon, so that kind made it special, of course. Lots of good dining and shopping, and of course the beaches were amazing. On the French side, all of the beaches are topless, and Orient beach also has a nude section. My new bride totally got into the spirit of the thing, bought a bikini and whipped her top off every chance she got. I loved it, but was a bit surprised at that, as she was pretty conservative back home. I asked her why she felt so free, and she said "because my Mother will never know", LOL.
Take a day trip to St Barts, and be sure to watch the jets land on their tiny airstrip. The planes come in about 10 feet above the beach, truly a sight to experience!Really enjoyed the culture and history. The poverty is pretty bad and you do get hustled at the tourist sites but there are wonderful things to see and also learn from the locals. It's also not expensive as Europe.

All my vacations are ball busters. If I visit a place, I want to experience it up close and personal. There’s not much time to lay on the beach. A cruise would drive me crazy. My favorite of all time was no exception. After graduating college, I bought a cheap flight to London, and a two month Eurail Pass. It was Europe on $20 a day. My budget got so tight, instead of going home, I started sleeping on the trains (opposite seat pulled down to make a bed). I hopped all over Europe taking night train after night train, and showering at the train stations. If I really liked a place, or met a girl, I’d stay over a few days. I met so many interesting people that way. One of the first things you learn when traveling on a budget, is that information is king. And to get information, you have to talk. For example, in Europe, it is much more expensive to purchase a single room, than a double, or a triple. So when you were out and about, or on a train heading to somewhere, you were constantly talking, searching for possible roommates. Guy or girl, it did not matter. If you could save a few bucks, that kept you on your journey another day. I made it the whole two months, and had $60 in my pocket when I got home. I was traveling alone, so I went anywhere, and everywhere. Interestingly enough, even though I was traveling alone, I was never alone. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience, and so much fun
I do know there has been issues over there in the past but the history is amazing! Glad you got the opportunity to go 
Been several times, the resorts are wonderful. We actually also stopped at ST Kitts and Antigua as well! First time at ST Kitts, it was over the top. The natives are very freely and provide excellent service! Enjoy the nude beaches of Antigua.
We also made a stop at the French island of Martinique, very different the French and the euro made things painful!
I only live once and I definitely want to make this memorable.

Contrary to the media reports, I felt safe but the army and police are out and appear to be just about everywhere. I was patted down 3 times at the Cairo airport before I could board the plane to come home. They do have female personnel to pat down the women. Have a safe vacation wherever you go.

There are very nice and affordable places on the beach and the food is great.
It is a paradise for massage lovers, as I amA few years ago I spent an incredible month living with a lady-friend at her home in Moscow. Not having to stay in a hotel allowed me to see what life in Moscow is like through the eyes of a citizen. We went to so many museums, art galleries, ballets, and dance festivals that I lost track of all of them. If you love the arts, you would love it! I didn't think anything could top it. - On a whim we took the over-night train to St. Petersburg with no real plans about where we'd stay, but we made some phone calls when we arrived and connected with some old friends of hers who let us stay in their delightful home for several days. ... If you get an opportunity, GO to St. Petersburg and see the Hermitage and the Summer Palace of St. Peter and Catherine the Great! It is truly incredible!
I have also had the good fortune to spend a half year on the Italian island of Sardinia, living on Costa Rei (the Sun Coast) on the southeastern edge of the island. My apartment was on the beach (a nude beach, by the way!) and I was surrounded by incredible taverns, restaurants, and dance clubs, all within a 10 minute walk. It was the most beautiful place I've ever been, and I WILL return one day! When I do, I will definitely take a friend with me to share the experience and make it that much more enjoyable!38 countries, seven continents, 76,000 miles 4-13 to 4-14.

Recently I went to few countries in Europe and then to St. Petersburg, Russia.
with family and few friends...we went to Amsterdam first, then to Coppenhagen, Berlin,St.petersburg and finally Stockholm.
I now realize that Europe is really way more scenic( we do have quite a few scenic places here in USA)
Just observing all those young chicks on bike in Amsterdam....Van Gogh museum, Ann Franks' house
and then visiting the Berlin wall will always be a good memory!
St. Petersburg is really very nice to visit...with all its history, palaces and museums.
Coppenhagen, another beautiful city...lot to see besides visiting the Mermaid by the sea!
Weather was good even in Stockholm, so it was fun !

I think this thread belongs here. Many of the guys go on sex trips. Their once in a lifetime trip becomes a yearly adventure. As for my Europe trip, since I was traveling unattached, sex was definitely in play. I made the proverbial pilgrimages to Amsterdam, and Copenhagen. I got clipped in a London clip joint (set my budget back). My last lazy morning there I was sitting on a bench people watching on Calle Preciados just off Puerta del Sol. All of a sudden, there's someone standing over me. It was a vacationing Lola from Cordoba. I couldn't believe the incredible coincidence. We spent the rest of the day together, albeit with her sisters (no sparks). The trip of a lifetime indeed!Did a 12 day cruise. Many highlights. Loved Barcelona and want to go back to Rome.
for me, my favorite is the BVI. I love sailing and it is a sailor's paradise. Especially if you are on a private chartered yacht with professional captain and cook to do all the work and prepare delicious meals.
Private swingers' resort which is a step up from a hotel takeover. Pool and entire resort is clothing optional with open and private playtime. It is renovating and upgrading as we speak, but I would definitely go there again...if anyone wants to meet there, I am game!
