So last year found out I am diabetic.  As some may know one of the nastier side effects is it can kill erections - dead.  Not soft - not hard to get - DEAD.  Sugar is now under control but the old boy is still sleeping.  Tried Cialis and Stendra with absolutely ZERO effect.  My Uro is now in a protracted fight with insurance company over Testosterone therapy as my numbers aren't quite bad enough to qualify.

For those that have gone thru similar if the Insurance still refuses (and I can't make THAT payment) what are expectations/options to look into next?  Did some reading on the injectables but the refrigeration is a problem.  Yes I see the Uro in a couple of weeks just want to go in eyes open.

I read once that the majority of sexual dysfunction problems are psychological, not physiological.

A good therapist might be able to help.  Not sure if insurance will cover that, however

There was a discussion below about a penis pump and cock rings.  Seems like it would be a possible fit for your case.

simplest way is the "stamp" test.
You buy a roll of stamps and wrap a few layers of stamps n a roll smuggle around your penis.  The last ne is moist so it holds the roll snuggley around the pen. If yo get an erection at night the roll is broken.
This does not sound psychological at all. One of the complications of diabetes is "small vessels disease" and the arteries which supply the corps cavernosa of the pens are clogged.  If I were this gentleman and having an erection was really important to me, and nothing else worked, I would try an injectable.

Man, I feel for you.  Here is a link of my post a few months ago concerning trimix.  Still working just fine.  BUT, if you have a refrigeration issue, that would eliminate that.

I have also experimented with a pump and ring.  I bought an expensive medical grade pump from the same compounding pharmacy that prepares my trimix.  The device is surprisingly effective.  But of course it doesn't feel natural and getting the ring on and off can be troublesome and/or difficult. You may want to try it.  It may be a tolerable alternative.  I know some guys who are just fine with it.

To the other part of your question, after messing around with androgel for a couple of years, I switched to testosterone shots.  Medicare Part D picked up androgel initially but it is so expensive that it drives you into the donut hole very quickly. My solution was to switch to testosterone shots.  I've learned to give the shots to myself (in the thigh) and they are not a problem.  Plus you can control your testosterone level with more precision.  I am now spot on. I shoot a small dose once a week and my serum concentration is very steady. The drug has multiple advantages. I have a better attitude and am less grumpy. (Grumpy old men and all that.  Just an absence of testosterone.) And I sleep better too. I pay cash for the med and it is less than $40 per month.  Well worth it.

I started having issues being soft with my SO. Started T shots and seeing providers about the same time. I get rock hard now. I think a large part of my problem was mental, but the T shots every 2 weeks do wonders for my energy.

Concur 100%. There is a psycho side to this whole thing because we're just getting older and want to perform like we're 16-20. Forget that. Just enjoy yourself and your partner, SO or escort.
