simplest way is the "stamp" test.

Man, I feel for you.  Here is a link of my post a few months ago concerning trimix.  Still working just fine.  BUT, if you have a refrigeration issue, that would eliminate that.  

I have also experimented with a pump and ring.  I bought an expensive medical grade pump from the same compounding pharmacy that prepares my trimix.  The device is surprisingly effective.  But of course it doesn't feel natural and getting the ring on and off can be troublesome and/or difficult.
