the last 2-3 years my libido has decline, sensations during sex gone down and orgasms just dull. I had minor sexual issues due to hbp meds, also develop some tireness and fatique. I thought this was due to meds and old age. doctor took a thyroid test, put me on meds and do i have get up and go and energy like I was young. libido, sensations and orgasms have improved. one warning thyroid meds and testosterone dont mix well.

Thyroid disorders are more common as we age as functional changes occur in our endocrine system. Hypothyroidism has been linked to ED due to corresponding hormonal changes. Fortunately, hypothyroidism is easily detected and highly treatable. A routine screening blood panel should include a TSH ( thyroid-stimulating hormone ). If elevated, thyroid function tests can be subsequently conducted using the same blood draw to determine the functionality of the thyroid. It's not uncommon to have mild or no symptoms or no stigma of an underactive thyroid on examination especially since the condition may first present as subclinical.

Interesting. I have similar problems with fatigue and tiredness. Took a recent thyroid test but the results came out normal at 3.25. I had hopes this would be my problem but no. Still in search of a solution.

Fatigue can be challenging to determine its etiology as there can be many underlying causes.  Examples include sleep disorders, depression, stress, anemia, cardiac or pulmonary disorders, chronic infections, life style choices, etc, etc. Eat healthy, exercise, moderate alcohol consumption, reduce stress and be patient while your physician orders tests and referrals to rule out certain conditions.  Good luck.

I came down with a very mild case of the Omicron about 2 months ago, but ever since I've had brain fog, and feel like I want to nap all the time.

At least 3 other people I know of various ages all say the same to me, and some articles I've seen have also publicized this.

It sucks having to drag myself through the day, and puts a damper on my sexual activities as well.

Allergies.  I was put on atenolol a few years back for hypertension and I became extremely lethargic.  Changed to metoprolol and was back to normal.

Not allergies. When I get new meds, I always look at the potential side effects.

Agreed. Quite challenging. I've had stress tests a couple of times, ekg, an ultrasound (i think) to check out the heart valves. In discussions with the doctor, kind of ruled out medication side effects like low blood pressure as I feel that effect almost immediately. I know I experience more fatigue than my peers. Latest lab work indicated low B12 but am taking supplements to address that.
