It is important to be as clean and fresh as possible. Not only for you. But for me too. Regardless of whether I am seeing more than one client, I always take a bath before and after a session. The only negative effect I have experienced is dry skin from taking hot baths. That is easily remedied by using unscented lotions that heal dry skin. ie: Lubriderm, Eucerin or Shea Butter.
