They are highly rated.  The only one with better ratings is the Cleveland Clinic..... that I've seen anyway.  You can research physicians and Hospitals on the Internet... .gives some pretty good information.  I don't have the links right now but start with Google.  I think there is a link in Consumer Reports and a link thru the US Gov't

here in Scottsdale ? I am looking for feedback on their  Melanoma team.....has anyone used them ?It looks  like I have to  have another surgery  and wanted to get a second opinion  on my options ....thxs in advance ....

I would suggest that you check with an organization called Cancer Care. They are a nonprofit that provides a great deal of information about all types of cancers. There are at least a dozen major cancer centers in the U.S., but some are recognized as being leaders indifferent types of cancers. Mayo has a very good reputation but I don't know if they are one of those recognized for melanoma. I was diagnosed with CLL four years ago at the Cleveland Clinic. I chose to get a second opinion from the James Center at Ohio State University because they are one of seven cancer centers that are recognized as specialists for this type. I was so impressed with their doctors and researchers that I elected to continue with them to monitor my condition. Luckily, so far my condition has remained very indolent and I am now just having annual tests to be sure there is no need for treatment. I think it is very important that you see the best doctors possible and that they be experts in the treatment of your specific cancer and that they are current with the latest treatments and methods. I wish you the best and know with your great attitude that you will beat this monster.

The "top place" depends on the type of carcinoma involved.  Certainly, the Cleveland Clinic is a very fine broad-based hospital setting, but for melanoma, the Duke University Hospital is the top-rated place in the USA.  For breast cancer, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston has the top rating.  For general cancer treatment, the two best places in the US are Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NYC and the M. D. Anderson Hospital of the University of Texas in Houston.  I am a cancer survivor and cannot say enough good things about MDAnderson, and it's in your back yard.

Best of luck to you, lovely lady.  You'll be in my prayers.

I don't know about Phoenix or your condition however with my father he went to different Mayo Clinic with Rheumatoid Arthritis after seeing a number of specialist that couldn't help him. They could not reverse its effects on his body but they have made them Manageable and have stop the progression with some experimental treatments.  It was hard for me to watch such a strong powerful man who had a grip like a steel cramp get reduced to needing help getting some of the more simple to open jars open.  He is not fully back to where is was but I would trust them completely after I seen what they could do for him after everyone else only really offered some sort of pain relief.  He is now in his 70s and in his spare time from taking mom shopping and planting and caring for her garden (a full time job mind you) He is remodeling a home himself to sell.  With his work ethic and love to use his hands I have no doubt without Mayo Clinic his life would have left him feeling like a burden and really taken his will for life and probably would not have lived nearly as long without them.
