that i'm on call @ work next week. A week or so ago i booked an appointment and didn't know my on-call status @ that time. Notified the lady today, of that fact and, well, i didn't recieve a very pleasant response. Was i in the wrong?
I'm sorry, but medical personnel, have some pretty shitty schedules. It's always been weekends, holidays, swing shifts, on-call for emergencies, etc.
It can make it tough sometimes to plan things.
That that might be the case? If so, it's a chance she took when booking with you. If not, maybe put a disclaimer in your introduction email next time?
Unfortunately there's probably a whole lot more to this story than you are saying and we aren't stupid.
Although many of us now are informed as to your misdeeds. Lets just say, none of us see you in the same light now.

I didn't even cancel, just mentioned that i am on-call.....some of us have REAL jobs and don't run our own show!

ahead of time that work could call them away would simply not book at all or until they know it's not a possibility of being called off. If they mention this ahead of time, it's no big deal because I won't count on that appt. This is the number one reason for cancellations, and it gets tiring at times when you're on tour. Knowing you, I highly doubt you did it on purpose.
I did not know about the on-call policy when i booked with her, i'm new to the hospital. I'm a traveling health care worker. I just found out, that I was was gonna be part of the on-call pool, just like the permanent staff. NOT SURE WHY I'M EVEN EXPLAINING MYSELF HERE, I DID NOTHING WRONG TOWARDS CHLOE.
