Time for me to post the NYC Neighborhood Map again!  (Flora might also remember that I post the Boston neighborhood maps.)

The Cloisters are up near the Inwood Section but I wouldn't even know to call the adjoining area "Fort George" w/o the map. I think more NYers will know Inwood than Ft George.  And The Cloisters ARE beautiful and worth taking the time to visit.

The most convenient places for "other" activities are "midtown" which conveys that pink section on the map but sometimes also the surrounding areas.  My advice is to avoid being too far east (First Ave) or too far west (11th Ave).  The subways are mostly between Lexington (NS on the east side) and 7th Ave (NS on the west side).  I'd say to stay between 3rd Ave and 8th Ave at the E-W extremes and maybe 14th St (southern limit) and 59th St (northern limit).  Those are GENERALITIES; lots people work in the Wall St / Financial District, too.  Lots of people are fine going up to the 70s-80s-90s, but the numbers dwindle.

Enjoy the Big Apple

If you want to see a lady, will you travel anywhere in Manhattan to see her? Or do you have a locked in area that you prefer not to travel out of? If someone wishes to see a lady, will they go all the way to the bottom or top of the city to see her?
I'm curious because I've thought to stay up in Harlem, maybe near Cloisters area, since I love trees and it's so quiet up there, away from the main city noise. Thanks and hope this question is seen as a genuine enquiry. Have a great day and start to your Autumn season xo

Hi Luv.  Speaking for myself, I work in Murray Hill and generally like to have lunchtime liasons.  My time is therefore somewhat constrained (need to get back to work), so I would not be able to travel that far to see somebody.  I think the area that is probably most convenient for most of us is midtown.  It should ideally be close to the subway.

Glad to see you coming back to NYC!

Oh yes that's true. It's been so long since I lived in a 'New York Minute'
Thanks for reminding me. I do remember now that men often use their lunch breaks for seeing a lady. You're right, that would be way too far to travel during someone's lunch break. Good thing I asked :) I guess I can always just go up there to see the cloisters when I need to.

....it is at the very upper end of Washington Heights and while there are trees in Fort Tryon Park once you are out of the park you are in the city, ie, cement. There is plenty of noise and I hope you speak Spanish. That is way beyond escort territory. I can only assume you are completely unfamiliar with NYC.  Go to google maps.

Way uptown, Inwood, etc.. is transforming into a richly diverse neighborhood...Cloisters & Inwood are gorgeous...yet it's way out of the way for all the Bridge & Tunnel Drones..

Was up there today..

I love Inwood. I take my dog there all the time. IF ever I lived in Manhattan it would be there.

So beautiful isn't it? It feels like old Manhattan blended with old Europe when you're near the cloisters area

Noticed you changed your name from Cameo back to your original NYC name of Flora

You are very familiar to Nyc so why are you acting like a new person after changing your name back?

also dropped your rates by several hundred dollars

Just strikes me as odd....you  have been around quite a while...years in fact...

Wish you the best of luck either way but..just wondere

1st of all, there was nothing about her question to indicate she was unfamiliar with New York.  She was asking if NY clients were likely to travel further than normal for the hobby.  Anyone in NYC thinking of relocating up north might ask the same question.  No amount of time living downtown or midtown will suddenly give you that knowledge.

2nd.  What the fuck difference does her rates make, or her name?  Why even bring that up?

You say you wish her the best of luck, but I highly doubt that based on the extremely rude tone of your message.

This is a discussion board

and she has mentioned it on another board....

asking questions is what  this board is about....

regardless of what you think of my tone I am not using the "F" word as you are

Maybe you should look up the word "tone" and "rude"

that is so so so helpful! I am planning to take a bite outta the big apple next month:)
thanks a million!

Some people are very exacting with the terminology but most of us are good with approximations.  If you say Chelsea and are technically on the north edge of West Village that's close enough for me.  At least I know you're not in Murray Hill or Hell's Kitchen.

Major landmarks are good, too.  If you tell a NYer "The Cloisters" they'll know where it is but "3 minutes from Penn Station" or "right near Grand Central" (they didn't call it "Central" for nothing!) is an easier destination for most.

Good luck!

Live wherever you want, and use a separate location in Midtown for hosting clients.  There are many ways to do this- hotel rentals, private Incall rentals, etc.  Personally I think in a city like NYC with so many dangerous clients to dodge, hosting out of your home is not the best idea anyway.  If you will be happier living far up by the Cloisters, then simply do so and host elsewhere, outside of your home.  Your happiness will be worth the extra hosting expense.  And NYC is a market with all kinds of men who can afford higher rates, so you can also just add the additional cost of hosting Incall in Midtown to whatever rate you were planning to charge.  If they want that midtown convenience, they should be willing to pay for it.  ;)

I think every provider I've seen in the city has been in the Midtown area, typically anywhere from 34th to 45th street, and usually between 4th ave and 8th ave. Lots of good hotel choices there with enough traffic to avoid suspicion. Easy access by taxi or train. Lots of tourists and businessmen foot traffic so no one looks out of place. Safe. It's also close enough to where most hobbyists work.

But, I host in Mid-town.  You will just get more traffic in mid-town point blank.  A gentleman may really want to see you, but time does not permit him to go way off the beaten track, so you'll miss the opportunity to meet;(  I find mid-town east is best, but never gotten a complaint on mid-town west.

Best of Luck!

Regards,

AAT

My first step in a search is to look in my neighborhood.  It's a bit silly, because I can get almost anywhere in Manhattan in 30 minutes.  But still, I always look in my immediate area.  I am by Grand Central, so my searches are Midtown East.  Occasionally, I'll branch out my search to Midtown West.  It's really just a mental thing.  There is no reason I can't see someone downtown, uptown, or across town, but I just don't think that way.

All of that is related to finding someone new to see.  If I am looking to meet up with a specific person that I am really interested in, then I'll go wherever she is, within reason.  I've taken the bus to the Meadowlands, on occasion, to see a specific person.

But, that is also time sensitive.  I am only likely to do that if my wife is out of town, so I can disappear for several hours.  Most of the time, I am sneaking out for an hour between work and going home, or on my lunch hour.  It's just not feasible to spend more time traveling to see someone that I will spend with them.  I'll do that, but only for someone special that I already have a relationship with.

It's super helpful. I'll see what opens up for me, or what doesn't. I appreciate all these things to consider
Have a wonderful weekend. Love to you all xox and enjoy yourselves.

So many providers stick with Midtown east or lower Manhattan.
The thing is NYC has a lot of great areas as everybody mention already.
I have friends that live in the Inwood area and love it.

It has a lot of professionals that live in the area due to Columbia hospital and school.
Also a little further down from there football field.
They have a really nice park near the tip of the Hudson river.
Just off the one train line and it's maybe thirty to forty minutes from Midtown.
If you take the Metro North it's even less time.
I think the more people see the area providers will realize it's other options.

Some good points but also some problems.  I think you're talking about Inwood Park which is very nice and family friendly.  It's accessible from the 1 and the A.

As you get that far north of Grand Central, the Metro-North stops are on the Bronx side of the Harlem River, way over on the east side.  The Cloisters, Ft. Tryon Park, Inwood Park are on the west side of the Manhattan side of the river and Spuyten Dyvil.  If you know the area or live there, not so bad, but for a quick "errand" it adds an inconvenient detour.  (Unless you plan to host on the Bronx side, which is also OK.)

The 40-50 minute trip from midtown (Grand Central) to that far up in upper Manhattan isn't too bad for a commute, but for R&R, it's 1. get to the subway 10 min 2. 40-50 min north 3. walk to hostess 10 min 4. [let's say ONE hour later] 5. back to subway and back downtown, another hour.  That's 3 hours out of the day for one hour of R&R ... which kind of makes it 2 hours of "work" for 1 hour of "play."  Most guys can't afford that that much time.   In midtown, you can combine errands and hit the bank, the book store, some phone calls, Victoria's Secret to pick something up and - all in 20 minutes - you're at your destination.  On the way back to the office, hit the bank again :-) , get some take-out, do more work, head home.

But I do agree that it's a beautiful area and for guys that can get there, it's not a bad place to be.

Just like Brooklyn is already becoming a more popular place to play, it may take a while for upper Manhattan to become a more popular place to set up shop.  For the time being, I think client traffic will be low for touring ladies.  For a native who hosts only occasionally and can afford to wait for the appointment opportunities to gel, not so bad

That being said, as a lifelong resident of the NYC metro area, traveling to see you or anyone else in NYC has never been an issue.  Only once did I ever travel to see a lady in Harlem, and it was no big deal...except that it rained that night.   I had an umbrella, so I stayed mostly dry.  Worse things have happened...

 Hope all is well..

You're such a breath of fresh air, and beautiful inside and out!!

Xoxo,

Courtney
