I was robbed by a trusted provider. NEED HELP!

With both sadness and anger it pains me to say that I have been robbed by a provider that I have not only enjoyed spending a total of three sessions with in my home with but genuinely felt was a great young girl(maybe the best ass I have seen) .  I guess is it was my turn to learn the hard way.

I invited a provider over to my place for a two hour session.  This is someone that I had seen two other times at my home and actually submitted a positive review on this website.  After a bottle of wine and a hot session in the bedroom I decided to take a shower while she hung out in my bed to watch TV and play on her mobile phone.  This was the mistake I shouldn't have made.

After I got out of the bathroom she was all dressed and ready to leave.  I walked her downstairs and kissed her goodbye.  When I returned to my bedroom I noticed that my closet light was left on and I hadn't been in there for hours and never leave the light on.  To my surprise, I noticed that a few of the drawers has been left open and someone had gone through my stuff.  I checked the bottom of one drawer where I keep a hearty stash of cash wrapped in a t-shirt.  Thankfully, the $$$$ was still there.  Next I checked my watch winder where I keep a total of four luxury wrist watches that I have accumulated over the past 20 years.  My vintage 1960's James Bond Rolex Submariner Stainless Steel was missing.  I couldn't believe what had just occurred but knew who stole my precious timepiece.  The truth is that another one of the watches was worth over twice as much but the Rolex name was the attraction.  I then started going through the rest of my valuables to take inventory of my own property.  I couldn't find anything else missing.

I called the provider immediately and after she answered, I calmly told her that I know what she took and as long as she returns it to me I will forgive her.  She acted surprised and told me I am being paranoid and she doesn't steal and hates thieves.  I told her that the watch was a family heirloom (it wasn't) and I need it back.  She told me I am crazy and hung up.  My blood pressure was boiling and I wanted my watch back immediately.  I then went to get my iPad to explore options. Again to my surprise, my iPad was missing.  First the watch and now my iPad.  I remembered I have the "Find My iPad" feature which using GPS and pulls up location on Google Maps.  I took out my laptop and tracked my iPad through the Apple website.  This is where things get really interesting.  I sat there and watched my iPad travel down 35W through Bloomington and end up at some apartment in Burnsville.  Normally I would call the police but realized based on the circumstances that wouldn't be smart.  I sent her a text and said "I know you have my Rolex and iPad at XXXX Ave, Burnsville, MN.  You have until tomorrow at 10am to return them to me or I will involve law enforcement."  20 minutes later my phone rang from a "blocked" number and I answered it.  On the other line was some thug asking for me by my full name and told me that if I ever contact the provider again that he will personally visit me and "cut off my hands so I will never be able to wear a watch again."  He asked me if I understood and I hung up on him.

So how do you recommend I handle this?  I think my police department would tell me to piss off if I told them I had an escort at my house that robbed me.  My Rolex is insured but I would rather get it back.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

...or why does the sex issue need to be brought up at all? She was a lady you knew who came to visit and stole your shit while you weren't looking. Pretty simple explanation, I believe.

I thought about that and might use it.  The only thing is that there is a 30 year difference between us and I have no idea if she has any prior prostitution offenses which they would see.

You've pretty much answered your own questions... Sounds like you're afraid of any shame or incrimination and possible retailiation from her pimp.  Only you can decide how far you are willing to take it.  Who knows if the cops will even do anything?  You can get them to the area of your IPad, but if it's an apartment complex, good luck.

Even if you call your insurance agent, they're probably going to want a police report filed and the details behind the theft.  Robbery?  Know the thief? Etc...

Good Luck to you.  Sure this will make you think twice about the home as a hobby hangout.

A client gets ripped off by an escort and reports it to the police.  Both parties end up getting arrested.  You really want to take that chance?

You hired her to clean your house ,, she has been there a few times to clean and felt you could trust her .. and you didnt have issues of items missing .. after this last time these items were missing .. you found an ad on domestic services on Craigslist..
Badda Boom Badda Bing

This girl needs to be arrested ,, if nothing is done she will do it to someone else ..
She should not be allowed to operate within the community

You certainly need to edit your review or update a new one with the ripoff info
Backchannel her name and make sure that gentlemen stay away and that providers dont accept references from her or give them to h

Or you could use the sugar daddy excuse, or that she was hired to "clean" your house and cleaned you
out instead.

I had a similar situation, but it was with a teenager at a party hosted by one of my kids. The net is we knew what was taken and where it ended up. Like yours, it also crossed city borders and there was no eyewitness. The cops filed the report so if the items were ever recovered - found in a search, found at a pawn shop, etc - it'd be filed as belonging to us. Insurance also wanted the police report. Beyond that, the cops won't do anything, not even a phone call, at least that's my experience. They also warned me about heading over to the house to attempt recovery. You put yourself in danger and if you start getting angry or get aggressive, you could be the one being arrested. Craigslist or ebay may be your best options for getting it back.

Here's the bad news...  You could be looking at an $8,000+ casual loss insurance claim, which is an entirely different animal than a stolen car or hail damage.  This could be:

1.  Above the level where they will likely need to see a police report; and
2.  Nearing the level where they may want to have their own adjuster (which in casual loss is actually a fraud investigator) crawl up your ass to verify the likely veracity of your story.

First:  You have four reviews. You mentioned that the lady suspected of taking your items has been reviewed on this site (presumably within your body of reviews). Is it fair to the other ladies that you have reviewed not to specify which one perpetrated the theft?

Second:  The lady and her thug know your home address. In your message, you have supplied them a healthy list of new items to steal. Perhaps they will finish their work in the near future.

. - Location: Hennepin Co, Outcalls, Dakota/ Hennepin, Travel also!

2. - Location: Hennepin Co, Downtown MPLS and is retired I believe.

3. - Performance: 2 - Should have stayed home

4. - Location: Hennepin Co, Robbinsdale Area

Not hard to figure out who it was...also, which one is the only one above
that has multiple names?!  Never trust anyone...

Definitely need to do a new review of her as who knows what she and her pimp will do next. I for one don't want to be murdered by some thug..well not by anyone lol but you get my point. Don't leave anything out. Re getting the police involved, that's a tough call. Also, I totally agree with whoever mentioned not having providers at your home.....

Also, what if you had a loaded gun in the house?!  Then the thug would have a
loaded gun with your registered serial number on it ... would you then STILL not go to the
police?

Excellent points..especially about the gun.

Thanks for the heads up on this one.  Since I happened to be the first reviewer and she was on my short list to see again, I think I'll call her up and tell her she just lost my business.

I saw her as well, about two months after you posted your review.  Was thinking about seeing her again, but not now that is for sure.

Should never let people get away with stuff like this.  It will just perpetuate the criminals, and you maybe going her good, as if she/them don't get punish now, it will likely encourage them to continue criminal activities.

any one who has ever solved a puzzle looked at your 4 reviews and quickly narrowed the 4 down to the one.  If it is not her you woe it to the 'one' to all of the readers that it is yes or no.  Don't allow and innocent person to be falsely assumed guilty.

As for the one'  you need to call her out get a recorded line and call back.  If you take the next step and go to conflict recognize that it is a mini war.  In a war everyone loses.  I don't know your situation but if your life allows you should report that you met with a girlfriend and she took your watch and ipad.
You do not need to mention that she was P4P.  She will not want to mention it either.  My thought is write up an email to the local police department.  remember sex is legal if there is no money exchanged.  send it to her (not to them) with a full transcript of the thug call.  Include every detail except the P4P.  then re-establish the dead line with your own threat to deliver all of the information to the police.  The police will know that she is a hooker but if neither of you report it they will not care.  She has much more to loose than you do.  If you are patient and reasonable you have a chance of getting your stuff back.  If she calls the bluff it is up to you to decide if sending the report to police is in your best interest.  You have the advantage, press your advantage.

All the people who suggested that you not report are telling society that it's OK to continue this type of criminal activities.  Although what we do is consider 'criminal'.  It's a funny world.  I guess if my neighbors knew I was 'hobbying', I wouldn't be mad at them for reporting me.  Sometime I wish someone would report me, oh the $$$$$ I spent on this 'hobby' is ridiculous

.... as the pimp/thug doesn't know where YOU live.

There's a big risk here, as there's no way to tell how violent/crazy this pimp/thug is.  He could be bluffing.  Or he might have done time in the Big House for assault, or worse.

Something to carefully consider before proceeding.  What's this watch and iPad really worth?  Also, could anyone else possibly be at risk, besides the OP?

Keep thinking like this and the criminals will be multiply.

.... don't give the criminals an opportunity to rob us blind in the first place. Think with our heads instead of our dicks. Don't give access to our homes and valued possessions to people we don't know and trust well.

I'm glad you would report the thief to the LE and take whatever consequences come from that.... for yourself, and the young lady. IMO it's a good idea to fully understand what those consequences could be and weigh the risks/rewards carefully before doing that. That's all I'm sayin'.

If the alleged "pimp" thinks he could get away with "cutting off his hands" AFTER reporting him to the police, then surely he's confident enough in his thug-prowess to come back to this guys house and rob him again!  (In the unlikely event that any of this is even real)

So, this guy is no more or less "safe" at this point, because he's counting on a "pimps honor" to just leave him and all his supposed valuable alone now because he didn't go to the cops??  This story is getting stupider by the minute!

1)  It is not a matter of approving of this provider's stealing from him.  It's a matter of he has to evaluate his situation and determine the risks he faces by pursuing the matter.  Suppose he were to recover his stolen property but end up being arrested?
2)  He may well have an employer, friends, family, an SO that he does not want them to know he sees escorts.  Pursuing this legally increases the chances this information would get out.
3)  If the police do intervene in the matter she or her pimp may try to implicate him by saying he hired her as a prostitute.  Some have posted that they would have no good reason for doing so.  It's true it doesn't get them off the hook and exposes them to more problems.  But the assumption being made here is that these people are being rational and capable of long term thinking.  They have already demonstrated they are not rational; otherwise they would focus on providing a decent service and building a client base instead of stealing stuff.  Plus they know where he lives.  Stupid people do stupid things.
4)  That she has a pimp increases the chances this could turn into a trafficking investigation even if it isn't.  And even if in the end nothing were to come of it, it would increase the chance of his activities becoming public.

Like the escorts, hobbyists cannot count on the legal system to have our back for obvious reasons.  You may be able to get the offender to pay for their misdeeds but at the price of paying a significant price yourself.  We have to watch out for ourselves and avoid being in those situations where we can easily be taken advantage of.  Unfortunately, the OP learned a lesson the hard way about that.  He will have to decide how he wants to handle it but from my viewpoint sometimes you have to know when to cut your losses.  If you are ever in this a similar situation you are perfectly free to go after whomever rips you off with all the legal force you can bring to bear.  But you might want to think about the long term consequences of doing so.

1.  You can't file insurance claim without a police report.
2.  If you file a police report, they will be in your business and may be more trouble than its worth.
3.  The thug who called and threatened you, may be the gals  pimp and any trouble will be taken out on
her by said thug.
4.  Thug could come "discuss" things with you, in person.

I say rewrite your review describing what happened and leave it at that

There is a plan of action in place that will allow me to be able to get the watch replaced through my insurance provider.  Without getting into details, I can tell you this will be a claim of a lost item vs stolen item and not require a police report.  After exploring all options of getting LE involved, I decided there is too much exposure for myself being that the thief was a paid escort that I invited into my home and not a random burglary.  I also don't anticipate this individual to just hand over the watch or iPad to the police. Nor do I think she will be dumb enough to pawn the items and risk linking the serial numbers of stolen property back to her.

Someone did send me the below story and if it happens to me I will definitely let everyone know if it helps me too.

I also thought I would offer a no questions asked $5k reward for the return of the watch.  If someone knows this provider and can buy it from her and resell to me and make a big profit, we both win.

BrunoBraun1740 reads

Doesn't that expose you to insurance fraud?

That's an interesting question...  Assume the watch is worth 9K, and the insurance pays you 9K.  You are technically free to spend that 9K any way you like.  Holy shit man, that's like 45 hours with Trinity!  You can go buy another identical watch, and if you found one for $5K, the extra $4K is still yours to keep.  But if you go buy back the *specific* watch you lost for $5K, that is a whole different deal.  At a minimum you would owe your insurance company $4k.  And also, whatever portion of the $9K you don't pay back would become taxable income.  More than likely, the insurance company would not recognize the reward as a legitimate expense and would want the whole $9K back.

My suggestion is to get the claim money from your insurance, forget about the watch, and go on a hobby binge with the money.

thumper69692039 reads

telling the world how you are going to commit fraud and then offer a reward?  The hooker thing is tame compared to this- felony fraud???

You say "Without getting into the details" And then you do.
What the fuck are you thinking?

What if, yes what if, a guy working in the claims department, or works in the local office of your insurance provider just happens to frequent this board.  It won' take much to connect the dots.  it might be marginal, but why the fuck take that chance????

You just keep showing how NOT to hobby, so I guess your dumbass will get what is deserves.

YOU JUST MIGHT WANT TO TAKE DOWN THIS ENTIRE POST. it has served it's purpose.

I use the "Find my iPhone" feature often to locate my iPhones and iPads (usually just lost in my own home) and have a great deal of understanding of what works and what don't with that... It seems odd that those circumstances would all line up so efficiently, except for the purposes of embellishing a story...

And the amount of detail surrounding the watch, and other items, and CASH! This all seems like an attempt to bolivate or perhaps "punish" a provider that lashed at his small penis, turned down his romantic-notion of being more than just a client to her, or didn't "stay the entire hour that was Paid for" or one of the other many deadly-sins that providers often get retaliated against for...

And the "Pimp-threat" is so classically cliche... As is "Rolex"... But not just cliche, but  awkwardly out of step with current trendiness, especially considering the age of the provider that's accused of stealing them...  Hmmm...

I'm not here to give advice to anyone.  I've made my fair share of mistakes in this hobby.  I never have had a provider visit my private residence becuase I didn't want her knowing where I live as I don't know where she lives.  Valuables?  I never have them with me as I'm sure the temptation is too great.
I know the lady you speak of.  I never reviewed her because I never actually had a session with her.  She made her way through my town last summer and basically hustled me out of some cash, but nothing to the degree you experienced.  I accused her of scamming me but her interpetation wasn't anywhere close to that.  About the only good thing I can say about her is that her pictures are accurate and she is cute as hell.
For many ladies out there, money is the only language they understand.  She could make a boat load of money if she conducted herself professionally.  My guess is that she lacks that skill set, has some kind of dependency, or does have a middle man to answer to.  I didn't read tthe entire string but have you contacted her and attempted to buy your property back?  That's a language I'm quite sure she would understand.
Sorry for your troubles.  She is damn cute though.

Nice detective work Wad.  However I don't think TER employs detectives.

If they had detectives it might not say she is white in her profile either which she clearly is not.

Did you submit a problem report of the provider and ask to have those phone numbers added?

Well she isn't black.  Since it was me that put white in the profile, I would say that she is more white than anything else.  She did have nice tan colored skin but I don't think "mixed" is a choice.

Plus one for my theory that an ad that states that means there is a black pimp in the mix

So, I have some reservations about the "believability" of your story... Due mainly to how "Find My iPad" works... So you just happened to have it on and had 4G active when it was taken? Hmmm...

None the less, if this isn't just a fable of pimp-fear-fantasy, I have been in numerous "life-threatening" situations over the years, and escaping with your life is the primary thing you should be focused on...

Your case is somewhat unique, because you've already exposed your home to these people, and I'm reasonably sure you'll be visited again the next time they need meth-cash... So, I recommend that you involve the police, YOUR local police, and tell them everything... because you're most likely going to need then to protect you from these people in the very near future...

I suspect you'll get some negative feedback from the cops, but they are used to protecting criminals from other criminals on a regular basis... In the long run, you'll have a better chance of not being re-victimized... Considering you've already made such an enormous cascade of foolish and naive decisions that brought you to this very predictable circumstance you're currently in...

You don't need 4G, any internet connection(wi-fi works just as well) and find my iPad is ALWAYS running

DirtyJesus1453 reads

And assuming the thief logged in to their wifi in the apartment? Hmmm it still smells funny when I read it...  My iPad doesn't login to any wifi that I haven't previously logged into... The story fits the behavior of tracking an "iPhone" using that app, not an iPad, unless several odd variables were to occur..  Also, why then not just lockup the iPad remotely once you've established contact with it?? And a "Rolex" in this day and age? Really?? Yes, I'm suspicious of the entire story being a fabrication, or at the very least a gross-embellishment of the event...

Talon is correct when he says Find My iPad is ALWAYS running. I have an iPad with wifi only service. When visiting an unfamiliar city recently, I used my hotel wifi to get a map of the area. I adjusted its size so that the entire trip (just a couple of miles) would appear in the window, knowing that I'd lose the wifi connection as soon as I left the building. The little blue dot showing my location tracked along the entire route as I made turn after turn. I don't have and would never want 4G service. That feature is always active, though.

If there is no "connectivity" of the iPad to WiFi or data, then there is NO WAY to access "Find My iPad" feature on the lost device, until it accesses a network and sends out the GPS data... (Trust me I absolutely know this to be true)

So unless 4G was active, or the iPad somehow magically logged in to random unlocked WiFi's along 35W, then there would have been no way of tracking until the iPad was logged into WiFi at the apartment... Which doesn't happen automatically the first time you are in an unfamiliar WiFi zone, until you accept the connection... Which would also mean the screen was unlocked... (so no passcode?? That's odd, and "convenient"...  Or if the thieves were mac-savvy enough to do a hard-reset and restart the iPad, which would wipe the contents of the device and take considerable time...

(I have had every version of iPhone/iPad since their launch, and I use the "find me" feature all the time... and even if it's in my own home or hotel room, it does not work, unless you are logged in, or the rare event that 4G is active... And I've never met anyone that just leaves 4G active on an iPad, since you continue to leak data due to apps running and refreshing in the background... So Yes, I'm still highly suspect of some of the hyperbole of this story...)

Let me explain a few things to you...

My watch and iPad were stolen from my home.  I was careless leaving this immature thief on her own for 5 minutes while I needed to take a shower after fucking the shit out of her.   I'm also sorry that she happen to take two of the most popular American luxury brands from me in Apple in Rolex.  Next time I will try to leave my PalmPilot and my Timex watch out for her to steal.  I'm also sorry that I left my 4G cellular network active.  I'm sorry if you can't afford using a cellular data on your iPad.  BTW, if you know a damn thing about the technology, you would know that it only uses 4G ONLY when Wi-Fi is not available.  Also, "Find my iPad/iPhone" is capable of pulling a GPS position as long as the device is connected to any network cellular or wireless and most people I know leave their iPad powered on at all times because they have a great battery life(I can't believe I'm arguing technology on TER forum).

You are claiming the "thug" I spoke to was her pimp.  I never once said she even had a pimp.  Please do not put words in my mouth.  All I meant was that is was a ghetto talking man on the phone trying to intimidate.

You are 'reasonably sure I'll be visited by these people again next time they need meth-cash' because why?  She is a thief and clearly has problems but never said she was into meth.  Although I wouldn't be surprised if she has a substance abuse problem.

For the record, I know the real full name (initials are A.H.) of the provider who stole from me.  If you are reading this message, I hope this has been worth it to you for all the hassle you have caused me.  Don't forget what goes around comes around.

Karma's a bitch... And sounds like your "karma" made off with your watch and iPad... (or so you say...)

"Popular american luxury brands" you say? Well, I say how "cliche"! And I stand by that! (And an iPad is hardly a "luxury-item" in this day and age, everyone and their kids have them!) And of course you were sure to classically mention how the "watch was selected from among SEVERAL other luxury time-pieces" and also were sure to tell us that other's in the "collection" were worth twice as much"...

Perhaps this whole situation is occurring in response to YOUR OWN Karma-issues as one who flaunts wealth or perceived-wealth foolishly in front of others to compensate for "inadequacies" you have...  It's seems the truly-wealthy also possess the demeanor to leave branding aside when discussing these issues, something you clearly lack, which only further creates suspicions surrounding your "story"...

(You are the least likely to be tossing "what comes around goes around" at other people right now, if you story is in fact true, then a "5 minute shower" is NOT where you went wrong! Your whole premise and approach to the hobby is flawed, and the rebuttals you give only further indite you to that fact!)

One of the most common occurrences in self-aggrandizement, is to name-drop or "brand-drop" as often as possible while weaving a tale... I'll let your original post speak to that on it's own merit...

Secondly, I tested my theories on my iPad about tracking when I became suspect of some of your claims, and it still seems that all those variables have a hard time working together in the same storyline, technology-arguments aside...

You've already lost the technology-debate with your  "uses 4G ONLY when Wi-Fi is not available", statement, since in theory that is how they work, but anyone that's owned an iPad and watches their data-plan knows they leak data like crazy when it's left active in a wifi zone, and even Apple-Support says this... So I guess that's just another area of life you don't "watch" very closely...

And don't be such a literalist! "meth" is just a metaphor for an endless list of reasons they might and most likely will return to your house, or discuss your home and possessions and carelessness with other people like themselves...

(This was message was posted from my "iPad", using the "4G LTE" network, hahahaha!)

I want one too! You're starting a trend! Then we could display these fine timex's among our collections of "vintage-casio-didgital-timepieces" and calculator watches as the crowning jewels do out life achievements!

And I'll carelessly leave my palm-pilot and Sky-pager laying out in plain view while having cash-hungry harlots roaming my house while I sit in the sauna and fondle myself!

(My luck, some $50 toothless junkie steet-whore will just leave and NOT take any of this shit with her! hahaha!)

4G is not good enough  I demand 5G & a solid brass timex.
